Do you think the clutch is slipping? (Video)
Hi to all and sorry for my bad english. I've been reading the forum for a while and found very useful information. I want to ask you clutch related question. I noticed strange smell during two long trips, like burning clutch. On short distances there is nothing, so i started to look for other clutch symptoms and noticed that when i go full throttle from let say steady 3k rpm, the rev counter jumps forward, then stops or goes little back and then progresses smoothly(no tire spinning). My car is 320i manual. I made a video and would like to hear your oppinions if this is a problem with my clutch, or you guys with manuals have it too?
watch the video from 20sec. It happens around 23sec Thanks! PS. Loud ass music going, lower your volume. Last edited by expl0de; 06-09-2015 at 10:38 AM.. |

Sure looks like it. It usually slips in 4th or 5th first around 4000 rpm at full throttle. It gets progressively worse from there.
