IND | F8x M3/M4 Matte Carbon and Alcantara Shifter

Drawing inspiration from BMW's M Performance E-brake boot with gloss carbon handle and parallel tri-stitch, we created our own set with BMW's M Performance matte carbon shifter and e-brake boots as a base.

BMW's M Performance emergency brake boot comes in the standard dark Alcantara that we're all familiar with, BMW tri-color stitch theme running parallel to the existing seam of the fabric, with the Bavarian blue stitch riding the center. However, with the gloss carbon handle - this set did coordinate well for owners that did not have the DCT transmission and gloss carbon knob trim. Especially more so with the parallel tri-color stitching.

As always, we are interested in creating an alternative options. We first mirrored this new stitch variation on an M Performance shift boot, replacing the white stitching with our own.

BMW M Performance has since released a coordinating matte carbon and alcantara e-brake boot, from which we bring to you our latest creation. Utilizing the BMW OEM e-brake boot, the white stitching has been carefully removed and replaced with the parallel tri-stitch. Dark alcantara and matte carbon match the M Performance shifter perfectly, thus completing the set

Shift knob and boot can be purchased separate of the e-brake.

The alcantara boot itself however is not available separate of the knob and vice versa.

I'm curious about the shifter and boot as well. What is the cost shipped to Toronto, Canada? Does the shifter light up like the OEM shifter? Lastly, how easy is this as a DIY job? Is there a DIY video available?

The M Performance knob unfortunately does not retain the backlit functionality of the original.

Pretty easy install, 5 mins or so. Install is nearly identical to the one in this video.

I wish there was a way to just get the boot (OEM alacantar, not aftermarket). I know myself and others who love the stock shift knob but so badly want the alcantara boot. Oh well

We don't have them paired as a set online as it was a custom set done for a client. The straight stitching with OE leather knob can be done by special request.

We'd done a few gloss carbon shift knob conversions using an F10 M Performance knob, these knobs are no longer available however.
