BMW of Santa Barbara has one in inventory

I inquired about their wait list a few months back and the CA told me that they prefer to do business with locals in order to form long term relationships. Out of the blue I got a call from that dealer over the weekend asking me if I was interested in a white ext, black int M2 that's going to be in the inventory real soon, they wanted 10k markup though. I guess when money talks, business relationship isn't so important after all.

When I first started contacting dealers in September of last year I spoke with a CA who told me that they already had a list and wouldn't be adding anyone else to it. They also stated they would be selling them for $5,000 over sticker. Yes sir.... put them on the naughty list.

I beleive the main ED sales guy in Santa Barbara BMW is the owner of bimmerfest forum site.

About markups. These mark ups are a West Coast phenomenon.

I go by there every weekend, I'll ask my CA when it's arriving (if it's not already there).

As for money talks...there is plenty here to go around. The one LBB M2 I know they delivered went to a high school kid.
