Price increase for metallic color.
BMW just increase three metallic color option from $550 to $700 as of August 2016.
On the side note, apple car play is available on the website.\ Actually not just the M2, every BMW model is receiving $150 bump for August. Last edited by jaykoolzboy; 08-01-2016 at 09:54 PM.. |

I hope they can start doing a decent paint job. Paying $700 for a bunch of orange peel effect sucks. Hell, even the $550 is a rip off

Can't say I agree with you on this. I am very particular and overall I think BMW paint is pretty decent. I have seen one or two with very light orange peel on bumpers but I haven't seen that issue on any cars for the past couple of years. Of course I haven't seen every car. The M2's I have seen all looked really good.

Yup. First one...that is, if I ever get my M2. I'm afraid mine will be collecting dust somewhere b/c of this diff issue.

Maybe this price increase is to help fix this issue with the orange peel. BMW isn't the only manufacturer to use water based paint, the other companies all have this issue with texture as well.

Not sure on EU vs US regulations but don't they all have to use water based now? I can say for sure our 2006 glacier silver vert has a much nicer paint job than my 2014 235.

EDIT/PS: comparing my old Z4MC orange peel to the M2's, I'm pretty sure I could zest at least 4 more salads with the Z4MC paint - it's definitely improved over the last 9 years. Last edited by gmzanatta; 08-02-2016 at 04:26 PM.. |

My impending production # seems light years away with all these rear diff issues. It was expected in early July. I'm looking hard now at the cars available and I'm now willing to pay a fair premium just so I can get on with life lmao |
