Is alpine white a chick color????

im shopping for a used E90 and i want some opinions. my first choice is jet black or black sapphire but since i am buying used i may not have much control over what color i get

i LOVE AW on the e92. i think it shows off the lines beautifully and really makes the car look great!

i also love most of the AW E90's that i see on this forums that have modded their cars and put new wheels on etc...

sometimes white comes off as a chick color, and im worried that in the sedan it might look like a chick car. i probably wont be able to get new wheels right away which would normally take away that 'chick' appeal very quickly. all i can really do to the car right away is some splitters, spoilers, and tint.

im not tryig to hate on anyone that has AW, because i do in fact like the color... IM NOT ASKING WHAT COLOR CAR I SHOULD BUY.. im just curious if anyone else has the same perception that sometimes a white sedan can kind of look like a girls car

any thoughts??

buy what YOU want. people may think the sedan looks boring, but if you like it, get it and in the color you want!

With beige leather I think it is.

Any mod would make it look like less of a chick color; black-out grilles, aero lip, spoiler, wheels, anything.

Apparent silver, black and gray are done for now. White is now the most popular color.

What Your Car Color Reveals About Your Psyche
May 12, 2008 02:37 PM ET | Rick Newman | Permanent Link

With gas prices nearing $4 per gallon, are there any cheerful drivers left on the road?

Well, if there are, chances are they're driving a green car.

People who own emerald green automobiles, it turns out, have the most positive attitude about the course of their own lives. Dark blue and silver are other colors chosen by upbeat people.

Red supposedly connotes an aggressive, high-speed personality, while yellow, theoretically, is for folks with sunny dispositions. But survey data show that people who drive red or yellow cars have below-average confidence. And black cars, supposedly a sign of power and elegance, are driven by the most downbeat drivers of all.

The automotive color-coding comes from CNW Marketing Research in Bandon, Ore., which asked nearly 1,900 Americans about their attitudes toward their own lives at several points over the course of a year. CNW also asked each respondent the color of the car they drive most often, which allowed the researchers to develop a kind of color-confidence index. According to CNW, here's what the color of a car says about the person who bought it:

People whose car is: Have confidence that is:
Emerald green 5.5% above average
Dark blue 3.2% above average
Silver 1.2% above average
White Average
Sunny yellow 3.7% below average
Orange 4.1% below average
Bright blue 5.5% below average
Bright yellow 8.3% below average
Red 8.8 % below average
Black 14.6% below average

Since the folks at CNW got a range of answers for each respondent over time, they were also able to calculate the "moodiness" of drivers—how widely their confidence varied from one extreme to the other, in the course of a year. Sedate colors, not surprisingly, correlate with consistent moods. But if a primary color suddenly fills your rear-view mirror—well, it's probably best to get out of the way:

People whose car is: Experience:
Black, dark blue,
or silver Consistent moods
White, sunny yellow,
or bright blue Modest mood swings
Orange, red, bright
yellow, or
emerald green The most pronounced mood swings

There are better clinical indicators of mental health, needless to say, but Art Spinella of CNW says car color can be a useful "people-matching" tool. "Your accountant should drive something silver," he advises. And odds are pretty good that he does: Silver, white, and black—more stable hues—are the most common car colors, according to DuPont, which publishes an annual color popularity report. More moody colors account for about 17 percent of cars. If only they had their own roads.

i love my white car

easiest to take care of paint wise. avoids traffic accidents at night. easiest color to see the lines of the car. black interior is a must have.

but, no cool reflections off the paint. blows highlights when i take pictures of it.

I thought it was only for the 328. I've seen 3 or 4 in AW and all were females. I figured once I saw a 335i it would be a different story. Driving home yesterday saw an AW 335. You guessed it.

I don't care. It still looked bad ass. I like AW alot but the stigma kept me from getting one. Plus, I've never had a gray car so that's what I went with. I was 50/50 on AW vs. Space until I had to sign on the dotted line. These are E92's I'm speaking of. I pay no attention to sedans J/K

I like the corners. White is the new black. But it isn't a color.
