Bless me father, for I have sinned...
Just over 500 miles into the break in period, and I've already gone over 4500 rpm three times. I just couldn't resist. The devil made me do it. Temptation is everywhere!
Can anyone help me? |

Haha...you sound like me....I drove it during break in like I drive it now!!! Even red lined it once! I tried so damn hard to resist. This car makes it difficult to obey the laws of the road.

Just drive it. Drive two hours to go get ice cream or something, make sure no to leave the revs at the same spot too long though.

You're fine. Go wot a couple times during the break in. Vary it up. Don't worry.

Well considering they are dynoed before they even get to you, and thus, brought to red line, I'm sure you'll be fine.

2 schools of thought. The one I believe is, drive it hard after full warm-up from the git-go. You're fine. They pushed your engine when they tested it. Pushed it hard. They have to to make sure it passes all the tests before they let you drive it. Warm up. Drive hard. Others may disagree. Search and ye shall find.

hahaha, i couldnt resist either. but i dont think its big of a deal anyway. it really made a difference back in the days when you bought a new car you would need to let the engine berak in. but for new cars its not really a big deal at all. have fun with your car man

lol, this is hilarious, as soon as I got the car, I had the urge to floor it, but luckily didn't pass the 5-6k RPM. It had 2k miles on it when I began driving it...so no worries about the break in. Just baby her for a little longer hommie, you're almost there! (well not really, 500/1200 = 41.6%) No worries! you'll get there sooner than you think!
