Unhappy Advice needed...oil temp problem

Was driving home fro work tonight and after about 15 miles or so noticed that the oil temp gauge hadn't budged at all. Was running at about 160; usually by this point in my drive, I'm at full temp, about 240-250. I checked I-drive for error messages and system check was clean. Doing some WOT's the car felt very sluggish; didn't get the usual kick it does. I noticed when pulled into my garage and opened the door with the engine running, the car had a loud compressor-type noise, but AC/fans were all off. Shut off car, everything went silent and restarting the car, noise was gone. What the hell could be going on. I've got 5k miles, factory oil cooler, Dinan software.

Thanks
