HELP-The sprinker systems are killing my car
My HOA thinks that its cool to preserve some cheap plants than my car by watering twice a day. The water spots are all over my car and its brand new. How do you guys handle they? They are too anal to put a cap on the sprinkling systems. I am very annoyed, can I sue them for property damage?

look at the pipe feeding the sprinkler and get the size probably 1/2" then go buy some 1/2 caps and take the sprinkler off and cap that line and cover it up with some grass or dirt and Wala no more sprinkler!!

cant do nothing about it. where i live the entire city has hard water. And if there's grass along the sidewalk there's gonna be water sprinklers. Fortunately where i live there's a garage so i park my bimmer there, but my commuter gets the water spots. Only way around it is probably to get a car cover and cover it each time you get home. It's a pita, but I don't see any other way.

It was a joke, I doubt someone is watching your house 24/7. And not to be a prick (although many girls have called me one) but if you can't figure out how to grab the sprinkler head and turn it away from your car then get use to those water marks

Remove the water spots, then seal the paint with a sealant like Zaino, Klasses, or whatever Chem guys have to preserve the paint from further damage.
I had a similar prob with sprinklers, but after I Zaino'd my car, most of the water beads off and the water spots that do form come off real easy. and not to offend, but a healthy landscape has value as well.

Get a car cover, find somewhere else to park, figure out when the sprinklers are scheduled to turn on and move the car at that time... lot of options.

If the sprinkler head is the standard pop-up style, it likelz has a small screw in the very top that controls water flow. Get a small, regular screwdriver and screw it either all the way down (off) or nearly all the way down to cut down on the output. I'd have it spray some water, but only enough so that it doesn't hit your car. If it is spraying a little bit of water, nobody will notice that it isn't working and come to fix it....
You can see the little screw I'm talking about in this picture (very top.)
