Headlight washer question..

Ok. I've searched and searched but can't seem to find anything on this. Is there a way to turn off the headlight washer when you're trying to spray the windshield?

Its annoying, pisses me off when I get all that fluid on the hood after I wash the car, it wastes fluid, and I don't want to turn my light off while I'm driving just so the headlight washers don't spray (which I've done a couple times).

May be search a little better next time???

Do not pull the stalk all the way & they won't come on. Here is a good discussion.

Thanks for the link.
Seems like there's no way to turn it off then (via some kind of switch or setting). I guess I'll take out the fuse and leave it out until winter time.

nope, no way to turn it off...weird though, I pulled gently and they didn't come on, and then I hit the lever next time a bit more and the head lights sprayed TWICE!?

Mine have not come on since the winter time. Makes me think there is some sort of sensor that can tell the lens is filthy. In the winter the headlights would be washed randomly and frequently and holy crap does that system just simply piss away fluid or what!!!?

it was my understanding that they only come on when the headlights are on or in the accessory position?

My lamp washers have never come on. Maybe something is wrong.

Yes the headlight washers come on only when the headlight and the parking lights are on.

It's safe to say that there is no sensor that can tell if the headlamp lenses are dirty. Here's to wishful thinking though. If your's aren't coming on, there's probably something wrong.

Pull the fuse for them (#43). The panel is behind the glove compartment. The locator is cryptic, but after some study, you'll figure it out. There are plastic forceps provided to remove the fuse. Store the fuse until winter returns (ugh!)

Curious -- did you order your car w/ washers, or buy it off the lot? Not sure why you would have an option on your car, only to not use it.

Thanks. I didn't have time to look in there yet to figure out which fuse it was, but this is going to save a good amount of time.

It came with the cold weather package, which I got for the heated seats. It works great during the winter time getting the snow/salt residue off the headlights, but there's no point in having them during the summer time.

Check here. There is a picture of the fuses.

Your car may have a slightly different fuse location.
