Cali wild fires claims professional stuntwoman's home and M4 coupe
![]() Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Not only is she a professional stunt woman, she is also a professional driving teacher, and is pretty bad ass. A lot of what we call BMW family are losing everything - homes, beloved vehicles. Yes, we know insurance will cover it and but that's not the point. It's sad seeing people lose the things they love! If you have Instagram (@purki1) go show her some love! |

Definitely sad to see. But as usual, things can always be replaced, so glad she/they made it out alive.

It is heartbreaking seeing these losses.
They are definitely difficult to see. If you live in the state of CA - Consider this as a Public service announcement to make sure that you take the opportunity NOW to close any loopholes and make sure things are in your name or that you have documentation to show the quality of your vehicle etc and it's in a cloud environment. Believe it or not, insurance companies want to make sure to pay the appropriate amounts for items but if the owner has No documentation No photos Documents not in order ( vehicle not titled in your name -for example ) An insurer cannot work miracles. It's not possible to pay top dollar for your " excellent condition" vehicle without photos that support its condition. It's not possible to pay for your classic car that you haven't ever titled in your name because you had the title/ pink slip in a safe and the vehicle was never registered in your name. For those that have been involved in a loss my heart goes out you.

I couldn't understand if she lost her life in the fire as well. |

Well said m3 adjuster. I, too, am an insurance professional and insurance, while a delayed benefit, is not something to skimp on. I have worked at the best carriers, and you can simply insure your vehicle for an agreed value. Any kind of vehicle. 40MM 62 Ferrari GTO to a Honda. If it is a total, no BS adjustment. Check in the mail. If damaged over 50%, you can total it out. Name your price tool is a joke. I suspect most here are savvy enough to know better.

To be fair, at least it was just an M4 and not a 2002 Alpina or something literally irreplaceable. They've been cranking out M4s so I'm sure the insurance company will compensate her with enough to get an even newer vehicle.

Heartbreaking to see, although, at the end of the day, it can be replaced.

Simply heartbreaking, especially the loss of life. Cars come and go and get replaced. I live in SoCal and this is a painful reality.

Could you expand on this? If too far off topic, you could message me or start another thread. I would have not thought there would be issue if you held all signed titles etc and paid for insurance ![]() What if title holder was put on as covered in policy, such as any leasing or financial institution requires when they loan money on a car? Thanks.

While possession may be 9/10ths of the law .. unfortunately it takes 10/10ths to settle a claim. Most insurance policies specify that they cover vehicles that you own, so if it's not titled and/or registered to you - the person who insures it .. then the policy doesn't apply. Many people own vehicles like track cars , rat Rods, classic cars, project cars , cars that have been passed down from relatives that have passed away, or perhaps obtained legally in a divorce , or a vehicle that they have otherwise purchased or obtained, but simply haven't registered and/or titled in their name. If the vehicle and all associated documents are lost in a fire (or flood ) then the only way to confirm ownership is via state records such as DMV records, divorce records , death certificates etc. Obtaining duplicate records is possible , but if there are no records to obtain ... then it's difficult to prove ownership, certainly at the very least an already horrible situation becomes more difficult. While I'm on the topic, and certainly appropriate regarding the M4 in this story ..making sure one has receipts or photos or videos of modified vehicles is always recommended. The destruction of vehicles from fire is typically so severe that wheels are melted and the car is simply unrecognizable.
