F80 with a 6MT, sunroof, and leather interior is a pretty rare combination

It took me just over six months to find my '16 M3 CPO with leather, 6MT, and sunroof in the color I wanted.

For kicks, I just searched nationwide for the same car with the Competition Package. There are zero. And the ones I found without the Competition Package were just shy of $70K. Now that I see how ridiculously rare an M3 with 6MT (plenty of ads saying 6MT then it's actually DCT), sunroof and leather is, forget about trying to find a similar one with ZCP.

If you have one consider yourself lucky!

I would imagine the sunroof is the real sticking point since the vast majority of buyers will want that beautiful carbon fiber roof.

I ordered my M4 back on July 23, 2014 and took delivery an November 22 that year. Mine is Sakhir orange with the SO/black full leather interior, 6MT and a sunroof. I plan to keep it for several more years.

that is sooo f*cking annoying. one dealership had a bunch of M3s for sale and they were all listed as manual even though they were all DCTs. i actually called them and told the internet salesperson. he tried to convince me that they are manuals.. i understand that, but when somebody is looking for a manual with a clutch pedal that you push with your foot you need to be able to differentiate..

Now if they had a carbon roof with sunroof Perhaps...

One dealer told me they had tanzanite blue coming in off lease with sunroof.

I get there it's yas blue with carbon roof.

He says people prefer carbon roof because it's lighter and lowers center of gravity.

But I'm not trying to shave tenths off my commute to work.

I was one of the weirdos who actively was looking for a sunroof car. Mine's a daily driver, and I use the sunroof every time we have (a few and far between) nice day in Pittsburgh.

its a 50 pound weight penalty over a CF roof, in the worst area. Its easy to run/corner with 5 pounds strapped to your chest/back... but strapping that 5 pounds to the top of your head makes a huge difference.

And for that reason...

The M3 is a compromise car for cornering from the start. Dedicated sports car platforms like Caymans feel better.

I have a sunroof on my 2017 competition with a manual transmission and I bought the car when It was six months old - it took me six months to find it.

To those of you who think that you will notice the Carbon Fiber roof difference during daily driving or even track driving - don’t kid yourselves. I’ve been tracking my car ever since I got it and not once did I think that it was top-heavy. I also love the open roof

So you've researched this...

the sunroof is engineered equivalent to strapping 5 lbs to your head and having you running around a corner.

Well assuming you are 200 lbs and a sunroof actually weighs 50 lbs, it would be like strapping 2.9 lbs to the top of your head technically speaking of course.

Just wrap the roof in carbon fiber... best of both worlds ☺️

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer the actual carbon roof... but this was the best all around M4 during the time of my purchase.

My wife said the white with CF roof made it look like a mullet...lol
I picked up a manual, white with sun roof and black leather. It was an 8 hour drive home after I flew to get it. It did take a few months to find but it was worth it.

exactly. might as well go full retard. thats what all the top supercars do. either you do a folding top with the weight penalty and lower rigidity, or get a coupe.

When I was shopping in the beginning of the year, The first one I drove was a 2017 6MT BSM with leather and sunroof. It only had like 7k miles on it too. I was back and forth on the sunroof. I was more concerned with helmet room than the weight. I might have gone for it, but the paint was trashed :\ swirls and scratches alllll over it. Was a beat up Queens NY car.

I hate how many DCTs are listed 6MTs on auto listings
Also ahve send dealers emails/calls to correct their listings. Most of the time that just results in me getting auto-responses about scheduling test drives and such. Meh.
