Issue with cornering light after accident
Hi everyone,
After the unfortunate accident I had on the road, I did replace front left light housing. The bi-xenon now seems to work fine, but cornering and position(?) lamps still failing (see attached image). The position lamp has burned out and taken was taken out, but the cornering light should be fine. It was even working for a while after the accident. After doing some reading I got to know that sometimes BMW needs FRM reset in order to fix short circuit and I did that by connecting with OBD2 and tool32 app for lights 0, 8 and 22. That didn't work. I still get errors in the dashboard after starting the car and cornering light still don't work. I also get following errors in the INPA app: Quote:
Thanks in advance. |

Hanging Cornering light
A goose flew straight into my fight headlight denting the hood and knocking loose the cornering light, the inner part of the light is hanging below the outer halo. Can it be fixed or does the whole assembly need to be replaced. See attached photo. Thanks PJ

I would check you battery.. 11.79V is low/dead. Low batteries cause weird errors.
Also what year are you ? If you are pre LED's did you code in for LED's? Just so we are on the same page the cornering light is close to center of car. What you call position light is LED's away from center (blinkers). Last edited by TunafishE93; 01-19-2020 at 09:16 AM.. |

Year 2010, facelift. Hm, maybe I was resetting the wrong lamp code then. I see the list here: 0x00 High Beam, Left or E92/3 Cornering Light 0x01 High Beam, Right or E92/3 Cornering Light 0x02 Low Beam, Left 0x03 Low Beam, Right 0x04 Parking Light, Left 0x05 Parking Light, Right 0x06 Fog Light, Left, Front 0x07 Fog Light, Right, Front 0x08 Turn Signal, Left, Front 0x09 Turn Signal, Right, Front 0x0A Turn Signal, Left, Rear 0x0B Turn Signal, Right, Rear 0x0C Unassigned 1 0x0D Lighting WBL Button? 0x0E Brake Light, Left 0x0F Brake Light, Right 0x10 Brake Light, Center 0x11 Taillight/Brake Light, Left 1 or E92/3 Daytime Running Light 0x12 Taillight/Brake Light, Right 1 or E92/3 Daytime Running Light 0x13 Taillight/Brake Light, Left 2 0x14 Taillight/Brake Light, Right 2 0x15 Licence Plate Lighting 0x16 Interior Lighting 0x17 Fog Light, Left, Rear 0x18 Fog Light, Right, Rear 0x19 Reverse Light, Left 0x1A Reverse Light, Right 0x1B Brake Force Display, Left 0x1C Brake Force Display, Right 0x1D Clamp 58g 0x1E LED Driving Lights Control 0x1F LED Front Field Illumination 0xFF Unknown Lamp I am quite confused with all the namings TBH, not being native English speaker.. I would be surprised that the battery fails like that, nothing else indicates it. Any way I can check the battery condition with OBD2? |

I was just going off what was post from INPA. I haven't used that program but if the battery was actually at 11.79 I would be concerned. You should be able to check voltage with OBD2, this also depends what device you have. It looks like you reset the right lights.

Yeah I seen the left, meant "right" as not wrong lights. Guess "correct" would of been a better adjective. I and not sure about the replacement but sure someone will be along...
