Guy piloting a 6-speed M4 in hillclimb racing

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
This is now my favorite car video of the month.

According to the webz, this M4 broke some class records in the Swiss hillclimb championship in 2015.
Stock apart from Intrax suspension, semislick tires, brake pads and safety equipment as per the rules.

Nice! He could have however coded off the ASD. Man does it sound horrible, especially on the non competition model.

Iím assuming these guys doing the hill climbs know the roads pretty well? The risk of getting it wrong seems very high...

We can't drive like professionals but we can get some thrills locally. There are many twisty uphill roads between the SF Bay Area and the Pacific coast. Some roads are so twisty that only motorcyclists and a rare sports car use these roads. BTW, I have found most these biker very friendly and helpful. If you and several buddies want a short hillclimb, get up just before dawn block off mile section and have at it. If bikers are there ask for some mutual cooperation, consent and help. I done this a handful times and bikers have helped twice. If fact we did some fun runs following them. It has to be tried just before dawn breaks so at first light you're storming a run or two. The CA HP will ticket you if caught.

I remember in the 80s and 90s when I used to do this in Germany, we came 2 days early and drove the track in our trailer pull car over and over. And we worked with VHS tapes made with a camera strapped to the rollcage that we watched together to memorize the track. Long ones, like Hindelang - Oberjoch were hard to memorize.
