E90 Suspension Refresh

I have a 2011 328ix and I have refreshed my suspension as follows:

Installed Bilstein b4s on all 4 corners
Installed Myle HD control arms
Had the car aligned at my dealer
Swapped out the stock Conti's for Michelin Primacy MXM4 run flats

Very happy with the upgrades. I've been using my F30 the past two weeks since it has snow tires and the weather has been snowy here in the North East. Took my e90 out this weekend for a couple of rides and realized how much I missed my e90 while I was using the F30. That being said the F30 is much better over bumps and crappy road surfaces.

How're the Michelin tires? I've been hearing run-flats are a no because the car runs rougher. Why'd you replace your tires? Where the old ones bad or just because?

How hard is it to replace struts?

The Michelin's are better than the Conti's. They are the top rated touring run flat in the category as per tire rack.

The run flats saved my ass on 95 a couple of years ago so I am okay with the trade offs.

My Conti's were at the end of their life so I made the switch.

My Indy changed the shocks and struts but I purchased the parts from FCP Euro (same with the control arms).

My tires aren't really close to the end of their life (I checked the tread with a treadwear reader and all 4 tires are close to the yellow line. idk what that means ). But, I'm leaning towards these tires: https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tir...rt-srs/p/39636

I haven't personally driven with run-flat tires. My mom's E-class has run-flat tires (from the factory) and they seem pretty quiet. But, that's probably because the Mercedes E-Class is the Luxury model. So, the suspension is a little damper. She's got the MICHELIN® Primacy™ MXM4®. Can't hear a damn thing on the roads.

But the MICHELIN®Primacy™ MXM4® for the E90 is $204/tires. That seems a lot for a damn tire imo

Yes the Michelin's are expensive but I think they are worth the extra cash. Since your tires are still good I'd wait for a rebate. You should also try Costco if you are a member.

Discount tires got rebates on both Michelin and continental.

I am a Costco member but I dont see much of a price difference between Discount tire and Costco. I'll just wait until my tires are a bit more worse
