Its not soo bad, I feel kinda juvenile with it off nowadays. Its rather refreshing to be normal and rock a front plate like everyone else in society lol.

You don't have to pay somebody - you can remove it yourself and get some color coded buttons to plug the screw holes. Not perfect, but a hell of a lot better looking than having a front plate holder on the car.

^^ I love bmw nerds.
I can just imagine how an outsider would view this thread: these guys are worried about how a license plate looks on the front of their 3-series |

This isn't unique to BMW nerds - you will find this discussion on just about any car nerd forum. Front plates = fail.

The whole front plate law is BS. It's just another fake law that's all about generating $$$ by screwing you over. They server no real purpose other than to F you over and take your $$$.
I love the morons that say "it's the law!" but cannot answer why it's needed other than reading the talking points of the aholes that put this BS law into place. |

I assume you can't actually register a car to a PO box.

its so true... you guys need to own it...should conditions yourselves, go out and drive a pink car, and own it -- just for kicks i'll take a 1991 beat up honda accord, with a busted muffler and a 5MT...run it in high rev range, and i thought it sounded cool for a busted car, with rust all over the body, the bumper falling of. ALl this with people watching...and i could care less what they think...no shame, i could care less how ppl view me -- own it! be a man! You'd be surprised how much confidence plays a role in how people view you, its all in the image! Rock that license plate frame on the front! Show 'em how its done! Edit: That '91 accord still goes down as the most fun i've had in a car (though I couldn't sit in it for more than 15 minutes)...but it had a beautiful 120 HP 4 cyl engine, light as a feather, and a manual clutch without a CDV that makes BMW seem sad. In contrast, the e90 has light, boosted steering and a disconnect clutch engagement. |

i hated that my bumper came pre-drilled also. So to make due w/ with the situation, i figured i'd go ahead and mount the plate, but try to make it a little less bulky and obtrusive as i can. So i just ditched the mounting bracket, and mounted the plate directly to the bumper by way of double sided tape. Since my car is white, and the CA plate is white-ish, it's not too bad i guess.

actually some of u guys were reading it right..i dont even have a plate on it!!! its just the damn frame lol..Las vegas is requiered to mount one IF u have mounting plates/braket..so if u remove it..then u dont have to do it. Did it with my subaru and no issues..some friends of mine got tickets for no front license plate but i never did as the officer saw that there was no mounting area (removed by a bodyshop)
my car comes from cali so thats why it has a stupid front bumper license frame Front plate is a retarded law...never got the point of it. I will be ordering the plugs from that link! thxs so much and im glad some of u guys hate it too lol |
