e90 wont start, brand new battery
I am having a problem with my 3series. the car been parked for a year and 2 weeks to be exact after being hit, i didnt bother fixed it since i had another car. i finally got it fixed, with driver airbag replaced, the curtain airbags replaced and also the front headlights(HID 7500K) along with the foglights(HID 8500k now). i tried to start the car, it would start on the old battery. so i got a jump start from a battery booster and also a car running silmutaneously. the car finally start, it ran for about 5mins after disconnect the jumping assistance(other car n battery booster) then shut down it self, battery is dead. i left the battery charged overnight then next day the battery still wouldn't start the car. so i bought a new battery, with the newe battery i still needed a jump start from another car(runnning). so the car finally started, i let it run for about 10mins then drove away after 20mins of driving the car just shut down(saying battery dead) in the middle of the road then refuse to start or even crank up(so i got it towed to my house)....My question is can anybody help me figure out what the problem could be? have that ever happen to anyone else? could it be the alternator or a bad connection from the lights or bad battery cables???? please help me out

the blow off connector on your battery is not pushed back in.. if you look at the positive side of battery you wil see there is a little catch holding away some of the terminal apart.... just push back together.. def your problem mate..

car is gettin sprayed at the min so cant take pic. if you look down at positive terminal. you see where the lead goes onto terminal. to the right there should a plastic catch holding a piece of lead away from the terminal. you need to lift the plastic and push the lead back to the terminal. get someone to push that lead to the terminal with a screwdriver while you try and start it as you wont be able to do it yourself.. try that an see.
basicially the lead blows off into the catch after a tip to kill engine.. |

How come you guys say registration has nothing do with it?
ITs likely the reason why the car isnt charging the battery? No? Or the alternator is shot? PS. OP you can "quote" people instead of saying @. Might make it a little easier for you. |

Sounds like your car doesn't recharge while driving. Could be the alternator/generator (as stated above) or a wire that feeds the current that has gotten loose. Try measuring your battery while you have your car running, at least 14 volts should be read. So just recharge the new battery and try measuring with a multimeter when the car is running as a first step.
The registration of the new battery is a good idea, I don't think it's your problem though. |

@JPSlick i thought it was the batter certification too but its now, it wouldn't give that much problem...the battery would have charged if it was certification just wouldnt stay charge for long if the car not driving.(like the battery certification wouldn't cause the car to shut off while driving....did some research on that) thanks btw, hopefully BMW dont try to kill my pocket tomorrow
