Horn function when car is off
The other day I pulled into a parking space and turned off my car. The car next to me started pulling out at a sharp angle and was heading towards my direction. I tried to hit the horn but realized that it didn't work while the car was off. Does anyone else have this problem? Or is this by design? I have a 2010 e90 with sports steering wheel.

Horn goes off when ignition goes off. I'm ok with it because I have to squeeze into the car and often hit the horn getting in/out so I'm glad it doesn't blow.

Reminds me of many years ago when I learned to drive on a manual trans VW Beetle. The horn didn't work with the ignition off, but the radio did. Same as my current M3. Seems like German cars like it that way. I noticed that the homelink garage door opener also will not work till the ignition is on. Again, must be a German thing.
