My E92 Vs a E60 M5?

I was wondering how i would hold up against a stock M5 E60

I have a 07 335i JB3 on map 7, with DCI, AR 3" DP. Would it even be a close race straight line vs the M5 or am i going to get smoked?

a friend of mine just got a M5 and he wants to race and i was just looking for some insite.

what should my car run in the 1/4 mile as it sits right now? 13's ?

I really can't see you having to much of a problem with this, if the car has an SMG tranny and with your mods I can see you pulling on the M5 (not much) but if its a 6mt and he can drive well then its a drivers race. C&D's test of the SMG equipped M5 ran a 0-60 of 4.7 seconds and 13.0 in the quarter, not that impressive for 500 ponies. Mind you they ran a 0-60 of 4.2 seconds and 12.5 in the quarter with the 6sp manual.

M5s have 500hp. Unless your car is from a tuner company you will lose. You may stay close, but you will lose

if we're just taking numbers into consideration, i don't understand why you're so sure.

are you completely ignoring the m5's power:weight ratio?

fbo 335i without meth weighs a lot less and is pretty close to 500hp at the crank.

i'd say meth would be the deciding factor.

I had race gas, and bolt ons and pulled on an m5 without a problem, they just lack the torque that the 335i has and only get their Hp/tq at high rpms

like someone said here, by the numbers it might not be that far off from eachother. id still say M5 has a slight edge in a long race. you got to remember M5 is a porker at over 4000 lbs. with your tunes power to ratio will be similar. that said the upper range of that smokin V10 will outrun the highend speed of our 335i (id say anything over 130-140mph) i think it will be very close for both before those speeds, with possibility for 335i to even edge M5 out.
