Ohh no's the end is near.......... j/k
Have no problem with the new name M4. However, it keeps reminding me of my Benelli M4 tactical

I just want to say: I think there's more to it than just moving it upmarket. BMW knows they already damaged its M Heritage with the softer new models. They can't mess up the legacy of the M3, so they decide to make it a "different" car so it can't be directly compared because it's more "upmarket" than a true 3 series. If they were building the best M3 of all time from a driver's standpoint (something that would only receive praise from around here), they wouldn't semi abandon the M3 badge.
However, the car is gorgeous. The rear reminds me of the old 8's

FOR ME they should have given the ''3'' to the coupe because in tradition there has always been a 2 door m3 and the original m3 was a coupe only. just my opinion

The world is full of haters and the blissfully ignorant. Then again it shouldn't matter what other people say or think!
I'm just eager as the rest of y'all to see the M4, and possibly own! |

A year and a half is a long time. Now when do we get to see the M235i, an M2, or perhaps an M335i? All of these would be interesting cars.

I like the badging as M4 similar to S5, but I still think I (if I ever own one) that I will debadge an M for that clean symmetrical look - flame suit on.

The M4 rendering that links to this thread is WAY better looking than the 4 series concept pictures. See the render at http://www.BIMMERPOST.com

Rebadging the M4 to M3 after you buy one makes no sense. If you really care about the name that much then you're a BMW fan for the wrong reason. Personally, I'm a fan because of the cars, not the name.

I think the new M3 will be a 4 door sedan, this will make the M4 a coupe and lets not forget about a possible M4GC
I think what BMW is trying to do is: 1/2 series, 3/4 series and 5/6 series where the odd numbers are cheap and mass produced and the even numbers are more exotic exclusive and alot of $$$
