Does your coupe whistle?

Hi all,

Does your coupe whistle? At certain speeds (60-80 kph) I get a whistling wind noise that I think is coming from my side mirror. I've looked over the mirror and there doesn't seem to be any unusual gaps in the assembly or anything like that. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this annoyance and if you've solved the problem what was your solution?

Bring it to your dealer and make sure you ride along for the test drive so you can identify the exact sound you hear to the SA.

Before the E91, we had two Subaru Outbacks and both of them had a very annoying whistle in the side mirrors at highway speed. It was a vibration type whistle, like blowing on a reed. Poor design of the big square mirrors.

Haven't heard it reported on any of the E9x cars before but a friend has an X3 and he gets it too. Have your dealer check to be sure the housing of the mirror isn't just a little loose.

never heard a whistle unless its just wind noise with the drivers side window slighlt open at high speeds

i had similar sound on my mustang it was because my window would not roll all the way up leaving a very small crack....had to replace the weather stripping, that took care of the issue.

No whistling, no rushing air, nice and placid to just over 140.... Pretty damned impressive for a frame-less windowed coupe.

i get a whistle sound between 30mph and 55mph coming from the driver's side. I don't know if it's the side view mirror or something up with my wheels! Unfortunately it didn't want to whistle for me at the dealer so they couldn't hear it. But it happens everyday at those speeds. Once i hit 60 or so, it goes away!

Bump!
I just noticed today that my side mirror (driver's side) started to whistle at 45-55mph. The noise went away when I had the mirror folded in, so I'm pretty sure it was from the side mirror.
Is there a fix for this problem?
