Care to Read, 350z!!!!

Well was headed to school today had my brother with me, we stopped at a red light turned out right next to us 350z pulls up, we were in the line that merges into the 350z line. So light turned green I took off normally tried to get in, but 350z right their, so I punch it wot, so does 350z, I was ahead but barely maybe half a car, I was surprised I didn't put more distance on him. From what I could tell his car had exhaust, injen intake, maybe something else, question is have you guys had the same experience??? Either theirs something wrong with my car or that 350z was tuned pretty well, my cars bone stock, other than wheels, he hanged with me, only like 1 car length behind me when i was in 3rd, but I was slowly pulling away

Was probably a 350Z HR. Those things hang with stock 335i's fairly well, even stock. On paper he could maybe even beat you. Slightly more bhp than you and weight a lot less than you. You got him on tq, but thats about it.

mmmm i have both a 350z and a e92 335i and i will tell you the 350z is quick but what gives it the edge is not the the power as much as the weight, when you compare the two you have to remember the bmw is a much heavier car. Now chances are this 350z was 07 or newer and it was the VQ35HR engine which according to factory specs puts it around 306hp. Both cars from stock are a pretty even match but when you add the exhaust and intake as well as factor in the weight of the Z vs the BMW the 350 will be faster. Also another mod Z owners do alot is a plenum spacer which corrects air starvation in one of the cylinders by factory default, it runs around $200 and its a rather stealthy mod that will give the 350z another 10-15hp easy. So no i doubt there is anything wrong with your car...his was just modded and faster

Lol, more than likely nothing is wrong with your car and the Z was probably just average basic bolt ons. Did you expect your bone stock 335 to blow the doors off a car with similar power and less weight?

I came from a fully modded 350z before my 335. They can be pretty quick. With bolt on and 4.01 final drive gears they run easy low 13s.

THERE is something very wrong with your grammar.
Focus on school, not on cars...

BTW, did you merge into his lane finally?

Are you saying there is something wrong with the Z then?

I've caught 350z's in my 325i on the track.

I've noticed they don't handle turns as well as they probably should (or all of their drivers are extremely timid - which i don't believe is the case). Absolutely pull away on the straights though. I'd imagine similar story for the 335i's (though they are like 700 lbs heavier than the 325i), except you can only slightly pull on them in the straight.

Ooops for some reason I got it all backwards, but yea there probably was something wrong. A shitty driver

A Z with bolt ons should take a stock 335i specially an HR Z

I did a little stoplight drag with a 370z a few weeks ago in my 335is and it wasn't even close. I had him by a couple of car lengths by the time i hit 70 and then i backed it back down. I didn't even get into the overboost on my car and had my snow tires on. Of course i should point out that I'm in Colorado and the high altitude definitely gave my turbos an advantage!

I am tuned and ran with a 350z which was also tuned (I was on e85) and the toll road has 65 mph limit with no one in sight we went at it... 0 to 60 I was ahead by about a car lenght, 60 to 120 he was about 4 cars behind. The greenway where I live (I call it greedway cause its $5 one way) is almost always empty during the day with no police around... The 350z is a quick car, I am sure it can beat a stock BMW but a tuned BMW is another story.
