I always thought the angel eyes were essentially your DRL, but now I just realized there is another light and I have no idea when it comes on or when its used ??

If you have xenons with the adaptive headlights, that is a halogen bulb that's essentially your cornering light (don't remember what BMW calls it.) They actually work really well.

Mine come on when I engage reverse too. But if you use your directionals or turn the wheel far enough at low speed, only the one on the site towards which you are turning comes on.
I really do like the adaptive headlights and all their cool little features. You really don't notice them all working except under unusual conditions, but what you do notice is that you can almost always see where you're going. |
