Hy guys,
Last night while driving, some high school kids drove by and egged my car. I chased them to a red light which they ran. I decided not to follow. Anyways I got their plates and immediately washed it off. Today I went to look at it in the light and my paint is $&@!ed. Looks like the actual egg impact cracked my paint in a egg shaped pattern.

So what should I do? I had two witnesses in my car. Should I file a police report and try to get my door reprinted or what?!

Technically vandalism, so file a police report, take it to a body shop and get a quote, if it's more then your deductible, get insurance involved.

Definitely file a police report. I had this happen to my old mustang and the entire car needed to be resprayed...No reason why you should have to pay out of pocket for someone else's blatant disrespect.

Yeah, what a stupid thing to do. I remember being younger wanting to egg peoples cars and put shaving cream all over them, but when I found out it can actually damage the cars I decided against it, sorry to hear these kids did not.

OP, I had my car two months, and was egged on the passenger side door. My car had around 500 miles, and I was fuming. I was quoted $600 to have it repaired. The dealership body shop said that the door trimmings, and side view mirror had to come off and the entire door had to be resprayed. I didn't feel comfortable having all this done to a brand new car, so I decided to leave it alone. It's not noticeable to someone, unless I point it out. Hopefully the police can track down the a- holes who did this to your car, and make them pay. GOOD LUCK.

I had mine egged on the hood..I used tar remover (the kind meant for car paint) and got it off within 30minutes.

Let me get this straight...Someone Egged your car...You have the Plate #...And you came on the forum to ask if you need to file a police report...Dude I would have been down at the police station with them trying to solve the crime in the FIRST 48 hr before it turned to a cold case.

Yikes... Last time that happened to me my clear coat started peeling I ended up having to get it repainted.


Police report is a must, get insurance involved if it is more than your deductible (of course)
