Gee em.

edit: I'm second guessing myself. I think the 06 might be ZF.

I think the 06 models all came with ZF (both 325 and 330) and from 2007 the 328's got GM while the 335's got ZF.

How do I use the vin to find this information? Never mind I found it... Anyways the reason I was asking is because I was told that the 06 was the most problematic BMW and that it was a BMW General Motors hybrid.

the 335's are the most problematic. 325/328/330 are NA and therefore dont have the turbo/high pressure fuel pump related issues. And GM/ZF doesnt seem to make a diff reliability wise from what ive seen on the forum.

Maybe the 1 bigger issue you will accross with the 06/07 that you wont see in newer models is the engine ticking problem, which affects *some* people..you can read about it in the sticky in the general section.

Well the problem I'm having is a rough shifting issue but is not happening all the time. And occasionally revs really high in park like last night I pulled in the drive way put it in park and it reved to 3rpm. Now my car is getting up their miles wise 179,000 and unfortunately I fell for the lifetime tranny fluid bs. So now I don't think it's wise to change fluid but I want to change the filter don't even know what to do! Or what the problem could be. New spark plugs and tranny filter but if it doesn't help I guess time to part with the car. BMW never seems to fix problems right like they just guess and hope for the best! I need help as to what it could be! Like a said its not all the time car still shifts smooth as could be but seems to becoming more frequent over the last few weeks

I would run some Jectron through and see if that smooths the engine out, might not but for a few bucks it can't hurt. At that milage I would have almost all the "lifetime" fluids flushed and changed if you plan on keeping it a little longer.

Is it to late to change the tranny fluid at this point it's never been done and have heard horror story's of that cause a transmission to go bad for sure after its been neglected so long. And idk what else they claim to be life time. I planned on driving it until it quit only I though that would be another 100,000 miles hell I had a ford mustang last longer than this with 212,000 on it when sold still ran great! Idk what to do!!!! And BMW can't help me they just take my money! Lol

What is jectron and can I get it at autozone? Do you think it's the engine being rough and not the tranny?
