Thanks for posting. Awesome - but very plain specs in some paragraphs - read.
Sadly they don't elaborate further on the MT vs DCT...

Getting a strong sense of déjà-vu from this article. Seems from the same author who never drove the car...

Many echoes of earlier reviews. Thanks for sharing.

So the M4 suspension is firmer in all aspects, lower and teeny wee bits of lighter weight here and there? How much sound could the extra sound deadening actually reduce in the M3's roof?

This is almost exactly the same article that was posted in this month's Car magazine. By the same author. Posted before he had driven the car. Car Magazine F80 M3 article http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=973588

And yes, the also publish his work in Automobile, as you noted in the linked thread.

Means nothing.

Next!

Huh, the one comment that I haven't read before (maybe I missed it) is that this clutch/shifter action is much more smooth, light, and tactile than the e9x. Wonder if that's true or not...

Yeah, this has been mentioned in the few reviews I've read that included a test drive with the black M4 with the manual box (seemingly 1 or 2 were available during the initial test drives; most journalists did not get to drive one). Not too surprising, as the F8x manual box is a beefed up version of that found in the 1 M. And THAT is the best manual transmission I've ever used in a BMW. Not QUITE 997 Porsche smoothness, but damn close!

Well, it finally pushed me BACK to ordering the manual version after I had wavered.

What exactly made you take that decision? Is there anything in that article I overlooked?
