2013 tentative release date?
Hi guys, just wondering if anyone know of any tentative release dates for the new M3? I stopped by the dealership here in Southern CA last weekend and the sales guy told me probably fall of 2012 but they might start taking orders as early as January. Any truth to this?

So this about 1 year for the M version to be released, after the 'normal ' version. (F30 and F80) So it will probably be (early) 2014 before the M3/M4 coupe will be released. (as the F32 coupe is revealed 07/2013) That's a long wait. But I'll go for the sedan anyway =) |

That IS a long wait. So we're looking at summer of 2013 for the 2013 model? I thought there was news that 3 series coupe is to be released early 2012 and M sedan end of 2012? Or is that all speculation.....
COnfused. But please chime in, any input is appreciated. If the wait is going to be until the year 2013, I may have to rethink my options. |

I'm hoping for an M4 (F82) for European Delivery in late May 2014 although any time before mid-September 2014 would work.

I am hoping you are correct. I cannot believe so long for the coupe, after the release of the sedan. |

So what is the expected start of production for US bound M3 sedans? My lease is up in August 2013 and I was hoping for a ED around that time frame.

I just hope it gets better than 20mpg. BMW will sell more of them long term. Especially in the CPO mkt if it got say 25mpg. Perhaps the triple charged turbo v6 will make these numbers real while still keeping the car around 4 seconds in a 0 to 60 and low 12 in the 1/4 mile.

Yesterday I talked to someone from the M-GmbH and asked how I should conduct myself as. My lease runs until February 2013 - and though I could take an F80, or think again should extend. Then I was told very clearly: "You'll probably have another 6 months, but should extend the fit then!" So go out once more by June 2013 ... |

I know this is a Wiki [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M3], but if we were looking at historical trends, the M3 followed roughly within just 1 year of the 3-series' release in most cases. It's a good sign that the next M3/M4 should be within release-time over the next 10-11 months based on past trends (I hope so!). I'm in the market for an M3/M4 but not the E90 version. |
