So it seems that ideally an ET30 offset would be the best spec for these wheels, especially if you are going to run a square setup. The final setup is using a 25mm spacer up front and 12.5mm spacer in the back.

No, I believe the rear axle needs to be ~ET35 or higher. A ET30 with a 12.5mm sacer will give you an effective ET22.5. This will likely rub the rear if using a 18x10.5" wheel. Maybe it fits without a spacer but I wouldn't risk it. ET35 seems to be optimal for the square setup: it's a direct fit in the rear while minimizing the spacer size in the front. |

It seems that every millimeter counts. I've been telling myself this since I was a teenager.

ET30 is too aggressive with a wide tire in the rear. ET36 is no spacer in the rear and 12 or 15mm up front, it seems like the perfect setup to me! |

I can validate what shadow noted above.
Shown below is my inner clearancewith 10.5x18 ET 40, yoko ono ao52 295/30, 20mm spacer and 5" spring with helper. I was warned about sidewall flex with low psi at the start of sessions but I think I'll be ok. Getting these photos was like sticking my arm up a cows arse. Edit: photos orientation is wrong |

Thoughts on an 18x10.5 ET40 VS-5RS on a GTS (factory KW) with a 25mm front spacer? Net ET is 15. Will this clear the KWs in front running a 275/35R18?

On GTS2 we have ET36 10.5 and it clears happily with a 10mm spacer. (In both cases with 295 R7 Hoosiers) The GTS has *much* more space than the regular F8X. KW in general doesn't give you a lot of space but the billet kingpin/knuckle provides massive clearance

the one on the left is stock, the one on the right is the GTS
Look at the angle between the table (which would be the plane of the wheel) and the strut connection. The GTS knuckle basically moves the strut away from the wheel, which is what you want for lots of fitment |

I've seen MCS setups on GTSs. I recall it uses a different front shock body but you'd have to call BimmerWorld or MCS to confirm. The suspension arms on the GTS are otherwise stock, so your spl should plug and play. If i recall correctly these are really expensive. |

Yup. Strom made a billet E9X knuckle/kingpin and it's also really expensive
In any case, BimmerWorld has already launched their GTMore suspension that allows 11-305 comfortably on all four corners. Some say 11.5 fits square, we shall see |

Hello, new here. I've been researching and trying to run a square set up for track. I was thinking running 18x10.5 squared if I can but I see many running spacers as well especially in the front. I'm currently on AST5200 with SPL E9X front end links.
I asked this person on instagram, he also tracks his F8X, he's running 18x10.5 with no spacers. He's on JRZ RZ Pros coils I believe. Link for reference for his wheels, below: https://www.instagram.com/p/CCWYQ-5B3qi/ I was thinking of running Titan7 E9X squared setup 18X10.5 +25. Link below: https://titan-7.com/collections/whee...33593155649624 Will upgrade my stock front LCA and Tie rods to the SPL parts. Need advice, thanks in advance! There's nothing to fear about spacers. BMW OEM racecars all run front spacers, sometimes truly gigantic 41mm ones. Edit: this platform is 7 years old. No one is all of a sudden going to discover that the measurements and offsets of the car are different now than they were before. The proper fitment is 10.5 ET36-ET40 to maximize the wheel/tire setup. If someone decides they will reduce their clearance to not run a spacer, they can do it, but this is not due to a new discovery. Everyone is free to do whatever they want. Last year a guy at a track event told me he ran 9.5 square on his E92 instead of 10 or 10.5 because the wheels were lighter. I replied "cool story bro"

I agree that BMW race cars run front spacers especially really big ones but I don't really like the idea of running spacers especially if you spend $2,000+ on a wheel just to run spacers. That's just me. Dumb question but what brand of bolt on spacers do you recommend? Should I stick with studs bolts or do a stud conversion? If I'm going spacers, I might as well go for the gt3 wheels from SAI motorsports. debating.... |

For a ET36 wheel, the spacer is 12-15mm, no need to bolt them on. I've done bolt on spacers for other vehicles but a track car needs frequent rotor replacements, so I prefer normal slip on spacers. Everyone does it differently, but I use normal 1500-2000 track wheels. They get banged around, get caked in brake dust, and jump curbs. Sooner or later they bent. My street car had a nice set of BBS FI, but I would never track those wheels |
