Downpipe worth it
Hi, I have a 2019 manual M4 and am contemplating a catted downpipe to go to stage 2 with bootmod3. Any advice if a downpipe is required to go to stage 2? What performance gains should I expect?

I'm running OEM Downpipes on the FlexFuel BM3 multi map and haven't had issues.
But (and I'm going to do this as well) send a log to PTF just for review and peace of mind. Worst case scenario the log is clean and you took some time to send an email |

OP - remember that you have TWO downpipes on your S55 engine. Catted DPs will definitely make passing the emissions part of State inspection, and will also make the turbos spool up faster. Can't speak for the BM3 tune, but for my tune (Alpine Motorsports), only Stage 2+ requires non-stock DPs.

You can run stage 2 BM3 with stock DPs, some here have been, nothing bad will happen, you're just leaving a tiny bit of performance/ spool time/ rasp on the table

Anyone considering going downpipes + tune I recommend getting a custom tune. I was running the flexfuel OTS stage 2 BM3 tune for a couple months, went with a flexfuel f80Paul tune and it feels like a completely different car.

Downpipes are absolutely worth it if you don't have/care about warranty. Car sounds amazing (catless dps for me) and the power gains are great with stage 2 bm3 tune.
