Nope, didn't narrow it down. Not googling, I don't think I'll like the findings with these words coming from you. Still, in my garage, I would probably park her rather than a Porsche

If you parked her in your garage I'd flatten all of her tires with vicious knife slashes and bash out both of her headlights. You're better off parking the Porsche!

Okay, i'm trying to concentrate on the market, and now I'm googling her. She's pretty, I'd drive her.

Let's leave this to that or I'll just end up in the ot again with this as the opening.

M3 in person would be the correct choice

M3 looks beefier and those flared arches differeciate it from a regular 3 series much more than the M4 which looks very similar to a regular M Sport 4 series ( which is a great looking car)

I currently have a 1M, so maybe it is just familiarity with the prominent wheel arches. Thoughts?
I had exactly the same issue and there is only one solution. Go and have a look at the cars in the flesh and i'm sure you'll stick without any doubt with the M4! For some reason the M4 doesn't Always look good on photo but irl it's stunning!

it absolutely does. The M4 is excellent. So is the M3 but it's a tad more played down. Which could be a plus or minus for some.

Here is a graphic that shows the base and M versions of the coupe and sedan.

The coupe looks wider (to me anyway) along the trunk line and the sedan wider in the lower fender area.

I've seen the cars in person numerous times now as I'm in Canada and several dealers have received the cars.

The coupe appears to be wider in person and the sedan looks to be more aggressive. Pictures don't do the M4's width justice and the same can be said about the aggression of the rear fenders of the M3.

The M3s width is more pronounced but I think someone would be hard pressed to say the rear of the M3 as a WHOLE appears wider than the M4's.

If anything I'd say the M4 is more played down - in comparison to a regular 4 series. The M3 is instantly recognisable as an M car and differeciates itself from a regular 3 series far more than the M4 does from a 4. M4 is a beautiful car and very elegant, the M3 is more aggressive and squat looking.

Choosing between these two cars on looks alone is much more difficult this generation, both look fantastic IMO. Unlike the previous generation where I had to buy the E90 I had a choice this time and really wanted to prefer the M4 but I just don't .

I completely agree... this is also exactly my thought seeing the sedan and coupe in person. The coupe looks wider overall but the fender flare on the sedan is more aggressive. I'm personally a coupe guy but that is just personal preference.

You had the same concern I did for a long time. I believe that the M4 hides its curves in photos whereas they will be prominent in person.

Just like with the E9X, the sedan will be the more aggressive looking car, especially once modded.
