Nope, didn't narrow it down. Not googling, I don't think I'll like the findings with these words coming from you. Still, in my garage, I would probably park her rather than a Porsche

If you parked her in your garage I'd flatten all of her tires with vicious knife slashes and bash out both of her headlights. You're better off parking the Porsche!

M3 in person would be the correct choice

M3 looks beefier and those flared arches differeciate it from a regular 3 series much more than the M4 which looks very similar to a regular M Sport 4 series ( which is a great looking car)

Here is a graphic that shows the base and M versions of the coupe and sedan.
The coupe looks wider (to me anyway) along the trunk line and the sedan wider in the lower fender area. |

I've seen the cars in person numerous times now as I'm in Canada and several dealers have received the cars.
The coupe appears to be wider in person and the sedan looks to be more aggressive. Pictures don't do the M4's width justice and the same can be said about the aggression of the rear fenders of the M3. The M3s width is more pronounced but I think someone would be hard pressed to say the rear of the M3 as a WHOLE appears wider than the M4's. |

Choosing between these two cars on looks alone is much more difficult this generation, both look fantastic IMO. Unlike the previous generation where I had to buy the E90 I had a choice this time and really wanted to prefer the M4 but I just don't .

You had the same concern I did for a long time. I believe that the M4 hides its curves in photos whereas they will be prominent in person.
