Here's my 2 cent: if you get black merino leather go extended if you get any other color leather get full. If you have the cash. 2500 can also buy you cf spoiler and diffuser or some other m Perf accessories so that's something to think about

This is what I'm thinking about ordering... Just trying to work out all the info about ED and place my order. Also getting lowballed a lot about my RS5... so we'll see. Definitely getting the 3rd pedal on this car. Had enough of the DCT, S-Tronic, SMG and all the other crap.

Regardless, the black interior still has the same black grainy plastic. Doesn't really make it less noticeable. The full leather is nice, has the silver stitching.

I like the full leather, but not for 2500.

Coming from an A6 I'm spoiled I think, the 3 series interior plastics felt pretty cheap, and given what I was paying for the car I splurged and went for the full leather.

Saw it personally at our local BMW dealership two weeks ago and loved it. Confirmed my choice of keeping full leather on my build order. If you can afford a few more $$ considering the price you're already paying, then, IMO, it definitely adds to the prestige feeling of this M car. Just take good care of the leather when you get it!

I had full leather in my cayman. The glovebox scratched a bit. This scratch made me worry about more scratches incessantly. During one rainy DE day where we didn't get a pass to roll up our windows, I watched as my wipers dumped water all over the leather and decorative stitching on the doors. Cleaning and conditioning it all was a PITA. All of that said, not getting full leather in my M3 was an easy choice for me.

Is there an option on other 3-series cars to get full leather (leather on the dash)?
If the M3/M4 are the only 3-series cars which offer full leather option - then worth the price to differentiate. |

I think it is because both colors are not very photogenic and that there have been no good pictures of these colors until recently.

How did I become the creator of this thread? All I did was ask the question. HA!
Anyway, I went to the local dealer yesterday as I wanted to see it and test it out. Leather dash is nice... but long term... cleaning and maintenance... really not worth it. To each his own I guess.

This $80k car isn't every other car, so sunvisors that came out of a kia should not be in this car. Before 2011, the M3 had fabric sunvisors that matched the headliner. BMW started cutting costs for the 2011 M3, and the cardboard crap was born. In the end, I don't care... my M3 had them and I never sat there obsessing over it. I'm just pointing out that there is a reason to complain especially since they just recently started putting them in to save a few pennies.
