Many thanks!
When US money factor comes out add .0003 to it to get ED money factor. BMW adds this to account for them making your first payment. They do this to cover the voyage from Europe here which is usually about a month or so.

For example US is .00130 then ED is .00160. With 7 MSD .00081 or .00111.

Well this is my last chance to improve on my lease numbers. Crossing my fingers for reduced money factor or more cash back.

Sale Price= $58,645.50
Money Factor= 0.0016
Residual= 60%=$39,990
Lease term= 36 months
Down payment= $0
Other fees= $2000?
Tax NY= 8.63%

Monthly depreciation fee= 518.21

Monthly Lease fee=157.816

Tax= 58.34

Monthly lease Payment= 734.37

Drive off 2000+734.37=2734.37

I just did this math really quick. So somethings may be wrong. I just did 7% off of MSRP to get ED MSRP and the another 7% for ED invoice. I'm not sure what the actual residual or MF so it's just hypothetical. Also, is trying to get a $1000 over ED invoice crazy??? I'm completely new to this. Tried to read up as much as I could before posting. Any input would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance.

Also I was thinking of doing the full MSD. Which i know bring the money factor down. My question is how much would I actually save by doing this on my monthly payments using these estimate?

Is MSD available for New York? I thought the state law was only up to 780 in security deposits.
No MSD in New York.. I had to allocate car from New Jersey to do MSD

No you didn't. 67% is impossible. Your lease paperwork will be denied by BMW NA. Your dealer made a booboo 10k/yr is 62%, and it goes down from there. You will want to call your dealer though... they might not realize it for a few days.

Do you calculate the residual before the down or after. If its before then you are right its more at 62%. Anyways is that good. I have no idea but i just wanted the payment to go down because in 3 years i may not want to keep it.

The residual is based on the MSRP of the car. I highly recommend you take a look at this thread on leasing - http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1084623

Instead of doing a large down payment, you should consider doing MSD's instead. This way you would be able to lower the payment, but also get the money back at the end.

Also keep in mind that there are many ways to end a lease early - you are not 100% stuck for the term.

I did 8000 down and 7000 Refundable deposit. If i did just the 7k refundable down payment wouldve been 1000+ month. It was just to get the money factor as low as possible... But man i didnt see this site until after i got the m4 conv ! Hah oh well

Residual's are fixed by BMW, and are unchangeable. Read the Lease guide FAQ There is no such thing as "calculating the residual" as there is nothing to calculate. Perhaps you're misunderstanding cap cost vs residual.

Either way, enjoy your new 'vert!

Also, keep in mind if you decide to part ways with the car early, you will probably be in bad shape with lots of cap cost reductions and MSDs. Also, if you total your car, you probably won't see any of that cap cost reduction back towards your new car. Just my $0.02.

IMO, if you are guaranteed to keep the car for 3 years, you should roll as much as you can into your lease payment (little down as possible) and put the max MSDs (heavily reduces your interest rate to something that you can beat in the market pretty easily). Otherwise, roll as much into it as possible, without any MSDs.

Yes sticker. I live in the SF bay area and all dealers here have been putting these m4 10k above sticker. Its crazy here. If i was patient and researched here probably couldve ordered one 500 miles away for less than sticker but i'm already too busy as is these days. I love the car though. I have 3 years and i will either order my own indivual colored m4 moonstone or revisit the porsche 991s.

Yep - lived in the bay area for 4 years. I always got my cars from southern CA, since it is a much better market. Next time hit up Greg Poland in Glendale (250 miles away) you could have saved thousands without much effort. Next time I guess - oh and don't put that much money down.

I wouldn't stress it much. You have the car you wanted and in SF, you get screwed locally. Just know you will need to keep it the 3 years or your going to get hosed. As for the cap cost reduction and totaling your car. You may not be that bad off if it doesn't happen in the first year. Usually any money above the payoff amount would go back to you. Not guaranteed, but that's normally what happens. It's just an extra risk you didn't need. Next time take the 8k and put it in a separate account that auto transfers into your main account every month. Keeps the payment low in the same way but without any risk of losing it.

Sorry did not see this sooner. You can add in the acquisition fee into the cap cost or part of it. Basically you don't have to pay all of your drive offs at drive off. Whatever you don't gets added to the cap cost.

800 up front or over the 3 years its 820-850 because of finance charges /tax - I would rather have the cash in my pocket. Its just a personal preference. I am going to wind up just under 600 so I probably won't roll anything additional into the payment. Its when I am in the middle I would rather up in payment rather than put more cash down. Hope that helps.

Oh god, dont do it - this is really really high. Contact Greg Poland - Pacific BMW in Glendale or John Schafer in Santa Barbara. They are sponsors on another site that I belong and will give you a much much better deal.

Although its late, but think the dealer milked you very well. With 8k down,7k MSD & 67% residual? your payment should be less than $500 before taxes. Anyways, Enjoy the verti.

I did already but right now the guy in Denver is on top of my list (for 500$ over invoice).I just got excited with the 67% residuals. Im guessing this gentleman contacted BMW SF.

He posted that it was an error a few posts later... its 62% for an 2015 M4. BMWNA sets residuals not dealers.
