tom @ eas was able to Source a OEM hood for me. I was going to do a race hood with vents from Motorsports24. As much as i wanted that hood, I knew that it would be a huge investment and i've never seen the fitment on that hood since they are in Europe. EAS had my hood painted and installed it for me. I'm very happy with the paint match and the fitment. Those were my two biggest concerns.

It is amazing that there are a few options to have the same style hood at a lower cost since F8X parts will wreck your wallet. lol. If you can save and get oem, I would recommend that over aftermarket. I will say that hood is very functional for heat extraction. All the air funnels into the mirrors and its noticeable front downforce at higher speeds.

Tested at thunder hill a few weeks ago.

Loving the new GTS hood on your build, looks like it should have been there from factory.

Take a closer look at every single GTS... the section above the headlights both sides sucks...
Most cars the bumper is lower then the hood and this just looks ugly.

^This! For the OEM GTS/CS hood, would be interested to know how to handle water drain, dust (is there a micro filter) from air duck?

The parts diagram here also does not show any drain mechanism:

This has been the best consumer retail price I've seen on the GTS hood. They're basically selling it for raw cost plus 10%.

http://www.jakesweeneybmwparts.com/p...618068159.html

I'm tempted, but I don't think it looks that great on a sedan.

Hey,

Still cheaper @ Tischer when you factor in shipping.

Is there any extra hardware or bolts needed to install the cs/gts to the civic m3/m4?

bonnet + hood struts x2 + vent + stop buffer x2 = done

getbmwparts sell it as a kit, just need them add the stop buffers too so it's a 100% bolt on replacement

Hey,

Excellent Photos!

Quick consult...

How (On the OEM C.F. Hood) does the Grate piece attach?

Are there any additional screws/grommets required or does it just snap in?

Please confirm.

Cheers!

Just snap the grate in. That's was the easiest part.

Installation of the gts hood takes around 45min. I use all the components of the original M4 hood. Still i had to adjust a few times because the gaps between the gts hood and the front fenders weren't symmetrical.
I eventually adjusted the position of left front fender.

Hey,

Just to keep it real (and updated!), albeit someone else (I can't find the post?!?) indicated this previously...

Yes! When you take into account "Shipping"...

http://www.jakesweeneybmwparts.com/p...618068159.html

The C.F. Hood itself is -$80.00 and shipping charges are -$20.00. So, you end up saving -$100.00
over the next best ("Tischer") price!

Cheers!

Hey,

As of today...

As per a Linda Wiley, "Jake Sweeney" (although they indicate a $175.00 Freight charge!?!)
will not ship oversize items. Local Pick up only!

Back to ($195.00 - Ground Freight) "Tischer"...

Cheers!

Does anyone know the weight difference between the OEM aluminum hood and the GTS hood?
