We've just spied the rumored M4 GTS prototype testing at the Nurburgring today.

Using MotoGP M4 Safety Cars as a basis (or as decoys), we see a large front spoiler lip and high trunk wing on the prototype. These parts are different than the M Performance front lip and trunk spoiler featured on the MotoGP M4 Safety Car and instead resemble the protuding front spoiler lip and elevated trunk wing from the E92 M3 GTS.

The prototypes also features M Carbon Ceramic Brakes and race bucket seats, which was also seen in the M3 GTS. One of the prototypes also shows a roll bar and rear seats removed.

If the M4 GTS follows the path of the M3 GTS, expect that it will come as a track focused version of the standard M4 with weight reduction, a massaged S55 engine good for more power, carbon ceramic brakes (already seen on the prototype), a rollbar, 6 point harness, no rear seats, special wheels and special paint color.

Where we hope the M4 GTS differs is that it is made available in North America. For US homologation reasons, the M3 GTS was available only in Europe and not in North America.

Don'y know if anyone noticed, but the photos actually show two different prototypes. They have different plate numbers.

Also seems like one has a roll cage and the other doesn't...

M-SJ 5613 with a roll cage:

I might be bias, but this gen GTS is less aggressive than the E9x GTS overall, except for the front end. That wing just doesn't flow with the lines of the car IMO.

The wing doesn't really suit the car as much as it does on the E92 to be honest. Nevertheless, glad they're making a GTS. Less Active Tourers, moar GTS'.
