Yup, it's an option.. sport tailpipes for the base C2.

^ it's a Carrera

Awesome review. Loved that feedback on the M4. It would be nice for statistics to show it beating the Porsche, but I'd much rather have the hooligan than the convserative car.

Happy hear about the throttle response and the feel. Excellent!

chalk a lot of that up to shitty tires for track work in a 400whp RWD car like the m4.

PSS are not up to task for multiple laps in a powerful car like the m4.

BUT, doesn't matter that the 991 is quicker to me on a short tight track, I think the 991 is an amzing car too. plus, the feedback from the driver was great on both cars. great watch!

I really enjoyed the feedback from Marino and I agree with him about the throttle response. It's always nice to hear a pro driver's take on a car

This video really does make you wonder why the M division didn't put some 295 rubber in the back?

IMO it has more to do with the type of tires than the width, though both are factors.

For a pro driver, he sure had an extremely tight grip on the wheel and seemed to be pushing with his outside hand through the corners instead of pulling with the inside. Not saying I'm anywhere near as good as him, just didn't seem like "normal" professional driving.

Really? Do they get overheated and overworked easily? I know they're not cup tires but I've only seen positive feedback on them aside from tread wear issues.

To the best of my knowledge the 911 comes with Pirelli PZeros which IMO is much worse than Michelin PSS. They do however come in 295 tread width. Anyways I plan to get a M4 so I can slide, if I wanted all out grip I would get a CaymanS or a Lotus Evora or stick with AWD

A vanilla 991 also weighs less than 3,100 pounds, so it's got that going for it.

PSS also come in a 295 width. That's what's on the M5.

Did he really say he preferred the BMW transmission over the PDK? That's surprising as I thought the PDK on the 981 Cayman S I test drove was better than the DCT....

No I meant that the 911 has 295 width tires and the M4 does not. Though to me the M4 has the better stock tires than the 911 (Pirelli Pzeros). Essentially I'm refuting the notion of those saying that the M4's lack of traction/lap times compared to the 911 is because of Michelin PSSs b/c it's not like the 911 has track worthy tires either.

Well I am not surprised, the E9x DCT was slightly better than the 997 911 PDK.
