After eight out of ten races in the 2014 DTM season, Marco Wittmann (D) has clinched the driver's title in what is probably the most toughly competitive touring car series in the world - the latest highlight in his rapid rise through the ranks in the DTM since his debut in 2013.

At the age of 24, this makes Wittmann the youngest DTM champion to drive for BMW and the youngest ever overall winner from Germany. "I always wanted to get into the DTM. Now I'm the champion. It's pure emotion. It all feels fantastic," said the BMW Team RMG driver after winning.

To celebrate this feat in appropriate style, BMW M GmbH has prepared a small, exclusive edition of a special model - seen here still under covers next to the BMW Motorsport Hospitality at Hockenheimring (D).

The BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition will premiere on Sunday October 19th 2014.

The former E92 M3 DTM Chapionship edition was painted flat black and had M stripes half the length of the car to match Bruno Spengler's winning DTM entry. Marco Wittmann's car is white with a black hood, roof, and deck lid. So maybe that's what we can expect, although it doesn't necceassarily tie back to the M brand in particular. However, if they were to give it an unpainted CF decklid to match the standard CF roof, and maybe even throw in a special CF hood (instead of the more likely black painted aluminum), well, I think that would do nicely. And I strongly suspect some (or most, or all) of the CF M Performance parts will be part of the package too. We should not expect any mechanical changes, and of course it will not be offered in the US.

I always thought it was a bit too early to test a GTS version before the competition package and before AMG C63 hit the market. I know these are tagged GTS but I wouldn't be surprised if it was this!!

Yea, somehow I don't see this being too different than a stock M4 save some decals and a dash plaque. This assumption is based on recent limited edition cars.

I don't see a rear wing judging by that side profile angle. I wonder what this will look like, maybe different wheels and all the M performance parts strapped on? Add 10k+ surcharge to msrp, call it s day
