Where's the champagne, for pete's sake!!??
Looks like lot's of new and interesting cooling ideas have been engineered into this car. From the article (according to Google translate): "Thanks to an extensive revision of the cooling is according to BMW M ensures that the engine can put away any burdens in extensive racetrack operation : Additional radiator for high - and low-temperature circuit support the main radiator for the turbo and the transmission are even cooler with additional , electrically powered water pump used ."

Full translation :

About half a year after the construction of the last for the foreseeable future M3 Coupe has today begun serial production of the new BMW M4 Coupe at the Munich plant. The first BMW M4 generation F82 ran this morning in the launch Austin Yellow color from the band and was of DTM driver Martin Tomczyk and plant manager Hermann Bohrer driven off the assembly.
The color palette for the middle-class athlete has to Martkstart in June 2014, the variants Austin Yellow, Yas Marina Blue, Sakhir Orange, Mineral Gray, Mineral White, Silverstone II, Sapphire Black and Alpine White, other color versions such as the popular Frozen finishes with matte finish follow later .

The production of M4 Coupe joins a range of four models, which run at the main plant in Munich from the same band. 40 hours lasts the entire production of a single M4. A special step here is the installation of the standard at the M4 Carbon roof. On the one hand some manual as well as automated step in the process play into it. The actual installation of the roof is done through robots that work fine but will eventually performed by hand.
Just like the pre-predecessor of the fifth-generation M3 is even BMW M4 coupe on a six-cylinder, but it no longer is 2014 by a high-revving naturally aspirated engine. Instead, use two single scroll turbocharger, the six combustion chambers under pressure and allow in addition to a peak power of 431 hp and a maximum torque of 550 Newton meters.
With a maximum speed of 7,600 rev / min, the new S55 is not in the regions of the old S54, but he is anything but speed-averse. Thanks to an extensive revision of the cooling is according to BMW M ensures that the engine can put away any burdens in extensive racetrack operation: Additional radiator for high-and low-temperature circuit support the main radiator for the turbo and the transmission are even cooler with additional, electrically powered water pump used.
The first customers are able to receive their BMW M4 for market launch in June 2014 in reception. Previously, she must get used to the price of 72,200 euros - in direct competition environment the demand from Garching falls, however, relatively moderate.

I noticed the wheels are the same wheels as the show cars. For me, that's great if I get the correct option number.

Why is CF roof initially installed by robots and later by hand? Seems backwards.

Hopefully those matte color offerings are not too much later

Think it will be too late for me, my car is being built in June. Would be great if they came out while I was still able to change my order but I won't hold my breath.

Ill probably be in the same position as you, still some hope left though

If they are available though, I'm afraid of all the research I'm going to need to do on the upkeep of a matte color

I presume the first batch will be the dealer cars right (I forget the term for the initial display cars that some customers have been lucky enough to have reserved)?

Makes you wonder for something special like the M4 is the first production car more or less problematic being that workers etc... aren't fully use to putting it together yet. Willing to bet that for your average BMW models the first batches are def. more problematic but being that BMW is making this a bigger deal with the M4 it could actually be better.
