That is what I understood. I am planning on a ED for my M4. Are you suggesting one can get a rebate for ED in Canada?

No - I was just indicating there is no 'apparent' price difference unlike the USA for European delivery.

Don't know why they bother listing if that is the case.

Probably just a reminder to enter the code for ED in the order system. Porsche has the same thing, zero dollar ED option ( they used to charge extra for it... )

Come on 3+1=4 is why obviously. The 4 series is BETTER than the 3 series. The 4 series is more prestigious than the 3 series... Ugh.

What really stink is that the M3 sedan will almost for sure be more expensive to produce because of it higher weight and larger part count. With most other things being constant.

BMW produces a lot more 3 Series than 4 Series so that factors in. For the parts shared with the series counterpart, the M3 has higher economy of scale than the M4. For the parts not shared with the series model, the majority, but not all, are shared between the two (M3 and M4). Only a few M3 parts, such as it's roof, are totally unique to it alone. Of course that also applies to the M4 too.

I read somewhere once in an angry rant from someone who prices expensive items for a living that pricing is not a "costs $x to make, then add %y in profit margin = price" sort of model. Rather it's "how much do you think people would pay." The easiest explanation for the price difference is that the sedan has been less popular over the years.

I don't agree. I'm pretty sure the price difference is simply because BMW knows the coupe is in higher demand than the sedan, hence the M4 being more expensive. This isn't rocket science.

Why did the price jump on the M3/M4?? It was 61,550 for M3 and 63,750 for M4, now its 64,200 for m4 and 62,000 for the M3 :/

According to autos.ca, the Canadian pricing will be $74,000 for the M3 sedan and $75,000 for the M4. Quite the jump from the Canadian pricing for the current E90 M3! This makes the new Corvette look like a bargain...........

You missed my (not obvious enough) sarcasm...

That's an amazing price for these . Still a dream for me, but definitely reasonable for those that have the means to do so!

I don't live there so that is not my concern. I live in good ol USA where I have a better choice a 51K C7 to me M3/M4 is overpriced at over 60K

62k US$, I bet the M3 will cost in Germany(country of origin) 65-70k EUROS to start from. From 88000 US$ that is. How can you explain that? Retorical off course...

Edit, here a German quote from autobild.de:

70k euros , about an hour driving from where I live, but I bet overhere it will start from 90k euros....

Cheers

Hey guys,

I was the first at my dealership to submit a preorder. Have any of you gotten a specific date as when the first orders can be submitted in Canada? My dealership representative is unsure.

Thanks!

Steve Thomas is giving me MSRP. I've never paid MSRP but I doubt you'll easily get below this on year 1. DON"T pay a premium!
