Hahahaha.

Actual Market Value. Yeah? Show me recent comparable sales, please.

I love when dealers do this, it helps me figure out who should go on my Never Do Biz With list.

And there in lies the problem. Some douchebag consumer justifies this particular dealer's unjust sales practice.

100% correct.

Unfortunately, there's enough stupid money out in the world.

(I doubt it sold for $100k over, but I would not be surprised if some idiot paid $50k over. $75k over might be a stretch. Dealers do this, generate hype, and then heavily "discount" their market premium.)

Chances are, they don't need your business.

You keep saying its stupid this and stupid that for the M4 GTS to sell above MSRP. Are you just pissed and hurt you didn't get one?

Anyways, its sold... that was quick!

This dealer is total poo poo. Always loved the pin stripes line item, it's listed on the window sticker for every car this dump next to the county dump sells!!

I have nothing against preowned cars getting adjusted to true "market values" by franchised dealers. My beef is when they mark up brand new, untitled cars. Cars that could've / should've gone to enthusiasts. (Many of these dealers will turn down enthusiast deposits because they plan to "float" the incoming car at "market value.")

Ferrari NA and McLaren NA, for example, strictly prohibit this.

Ferrari even has a policy where franchised dealers are not permitted to list brand new Ferrari's on Cars.com, AutoTrader, etc.

Sure, those dealers play games where they get their loyal customers to buy new cars at MSRP, drive them for 1k miles, trade them in *at* MSRP (so minimal loss, if any, to the client), and then they mark them up and sell preowned. But at least their enthusiasts manage to get the new cars at MSRP.

An M4 GTS marked up to $250k is absurd.

You can get a lightly used 2016 911 GT3 RS, 2015 McLaren 650S, Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini Huracan, for $250k or less.

Blatant markups like this taint the brand.

someone please find the guy who bought it and invite him to the boards.

there is literally nothing about that car that warrants a six figure price tag.

I'm confused...If I had a golden ticket to buy one for MSRP, I'd be thrilled to see others paying almost double what I paid.

That's not actually good for the brand, or the collectible car, in the long run. What you want is gradual organic value appreciation. Not price gouging before a market has actually been established.

It don't think it's possible to price gouge on a six figure, limited production, track focused car.

Some examples of what you can get for around or under $250k:

McLare 650S - https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...=GN_REFINEMENT
Lamborghini Huracan - https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...rchSource=SORT
Ferrari 458 Italia - https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...les&sf2Dir=ASC
2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS - https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...=GN_REFINEMENT

And these are list prices, too. With some minor negotiation, you can get lower.

I'm not saying either is better than the M4 GTS; that's for the individual owner/driver to decide. But, the cars listed above are in a completely different league with respect to what "type" of a car they are.

For that price i'd get myself a ferrari or a lambo. A used one but still you're in a different territory.

Although I personally wouldn't pay $250K for the GTS I can vouch for it being worth every penny.

I think we understand the term differently. It's inherently impossible to be gouged when purchasing a non-essential luxury item like a GTS.

Vista just threw something out into the market and got a bite. They probably could have charged more.

Anyone that got these for msrp should sell theirs while they are hot. This is going to be the peak of the GTS market.

Make a quick $100k+, quickly call your nearest Porsche dealer and get on the 2018 GT2 RS allocation list.
