I have a 2017 M3 with the Competition package and 20" wheels with 265/30 ZR20 Front and 285/30 ZR20 Rear. I want to buy a set of Track tires & wheels for Track Day events (not racing) and would like to hear recommendations on wheel and tire sizes.
Are 18" x 10" wheels all around the better choice, or 19" wheels? Will 18" x 10" wheels fit the front? |

18" Staggered: F: 18x10" ET25 - 275/35-18 R: 18x11" ET44 - 295/35-18 or 305/35-18 18" Square: F/R: 18x10" ET25 - 275/35-18 A square setup does reduce understeer and usually provides a bit more balance to the car. However, the new F80 chassis does have quite a bit of torque, and we recommend running more tire in the rear to be able to control the power. Therefore, we recommend going with the staggered setup. If you do have the Carbon Ceramic brake package, you will need to go with our 19" wheels. We do not currently have a proper 19" rear fitment for the F80, but are in the process of releasing that wheel in the near future. For more images and information on our future 19" wheels, check out this thread here. Let me know if you have any other questions! -Matt

I have the same KW Suspension H.A.S. Kit (Height Adjustable Spring) installed and thought a 18x9.5" ET22 would fit in the front with no issues? Thanks.

We are really excited about releasing our new 19" SM-10 wheels this year. Here is a wheel rendering on fellow Bimmerpost member JDE92M3's YMB F80 M3 featuring the new wheels in race silver, anthracite and satin black. Which finish is your favorite?

Thanks for the post! No spacer is required when using the 18x9.5" E22, even with the KW HAS kit. They were likely added for aesthetic purposes.

Thanks for the post! Just like our 18" fitments, the will work with KW Clubsports when the proper offsets are used. They will also work with other coilovers, even those which have reduced inner clearance.

Unfortunately the 18x11 ET44 will not fit on the front of the F80. This is also the case with the 18x10.5 ET22 fitment. Due to the design of the F8x chassis, there will not be enough clearance up front for any wheel larger than the 18x10 ET25 units we offer. If you are looking for a square fitment, we would recommend the following: 18" Squared: F/R: 18x10 ET25 - 275/35-18 If you are interested in a staggered fitment then we would recommend the following: 18" Staggered: Front: 18x10 ET25 - 275/35-18 Rear: 18x11 ET44 - 305-35-18 (295/35-18 can also work) I hope this was helpful! - Max

Max, Thanks for the reply. I know common setup is what you are suggesting. However from your manufacturer website where it shows the fitment possibilities, as long as I have good bit of camber up front with possible spacer attached I can even fit 18x11 +44 as well. If that is the case, wouldn't 18x10.5 +25 with small spacer also work? I already do have lot of camber. |

Here are a few photos of the 19x10 ET25 (custom orange) EC-7 on a fellow enthusiasts M4 GTS with 275/35-18 tires all around: I hope these photos give you a better idea of how the 19x10 square fitment will work on the F80. - Max

one more image request if you have them.
im currently looking at 19x9.5 et 22 and 19x 10 et 25 for ec-7 wheels. any pictures of this setup? I know its a recommended setup but i cant find pictures of them anywhere. i have only seen the 19x9.5 square setup in this thread. also can i use the stock lug bolts? do i need to convert to studs? All of our wheels may be used with BMW OEM lug bolts, so no special hardware is required. Converting to studs is optional, and makes things much more convenient when changing wheel setups, but are not required by any means. Hope this helps!
