Oh I did plenty of stupid driving when I got a Mercury Capri 5.0 at age 19. Had one cop tell me: "son, I could barely catch you up that hill." But he told the judge I was polite and when the judge asked me to say my side I said "your honor I was driving too fast." He said that he'd never heard anyone say that so cut it down to 10 miles over instead of, well, 80.

It is so tempting at times to really run these cars without thinking ( leaves wet roads this time of year doesn’t help when driving fast). I live in Philly burbs n the dear are running . Twice this week heading home at dusk I almost landed a set of antlers with my M4. If I was speeding or impaired it would have ended differently. Hopefully the riders are ok.

Traction Control only works if the car can correct and get traction. Enter a curve too fast with too much force and the tires will not have traction. Even less chance of traction control working when the tires are in the dirt or air.

Not quite sure why you are so offended by people speculating that the driver was young in a forum that is irrelevant to the situation, but agree the article does not give any specifics about the driver. Insurance companies would disagree with you on the automobile safety aspect. Accidents from drivers under 23 are disproportionately high as compared to the 30 to 50 crowd.

All people all growing up to be wise was actually the generalization. Those things I stated were evidence to the contrary.
