As a two-time individual SMB buyer I think it's wrong to the customers that paid more to do that. I don't really understand why they do it. Just devalues the individual option and makes people consider "maybe I should wait because this color could become standard".

Honestly seems like a cop-out to sell more cars before they kill it off since nothing else changed really.

hopefully a few late end models will be leftover when my lease ends in 2021. wouldn't mind snagging another f82 as I'm hesitant on buying mine after crack hub issues

The only alternative is for BMW to reject Individual orders for colors that they are considering using as standard later in the model run. They have done this in the past, but people complained about that too. Either way they can't make everyone happy.

Ordering a popular, once-standard exterior color like San Marino Blue from BMW Individual will always be more "risky" in terms of value and long term exclusivity than choosing a BMW Individual branded color, or a color from another manufacturer, or a color of one's own creation.

SMB has always looked like a Mustang/rental car color to me anyway. Colors are personal of course but can't believe people paid extra for it.

Colors to pay for would be like LRG, Daytona Violet, Nardo, and that orange color which is nuts (not Sakhir which I think is great too).

YMB fo lyfe if you don't wanna pay extra.

just dropped $$ on a 2020 atlantis blue f83, individual opal interior and trim. Add that with carbon brakes and that's the cost of being different. Is what it is. I thought Austin yellow would scare people away (use to have Phoenix yellow) but around me there are 2 other Austin's and they are in the same exact city

SMB is a great color, who cares if it becomes common. The more the better. To current SMB owners - would you rather have puke green or hot pink metallic just to be different?

Sort of like guys not digging Estoril Blue F80s because it came on M340s. Again who cares, I'd take an Estoril M3 with silverstone, black or carbon structure interior over most every other color.

I have a '16 SMB. It doesn't bother me at all that it's standard. I didn't get an IND color for exclusivity. None of the colors available appealed to me, so I bought one that did. There will be some more SMB's out there for sure, but mine will still have a carbon fiber driveshaft and is one of the 1st ZCP F82's. I kid, I kid. It is, but who cares?

No you aren't - there is no AWD available for the M4.

The next generation M3 and M4 are slated to get AWD, but this is the final model year of the current generation. Other than some minor cosmetic options, it is exactly like last year's model.

What's the cheapest a SMB ZCP 6MT Carbon structure stripper MSRPs? Probably could do it out the door for low 60s with a PCD. Maybe thro on Exec Pack for Harmon Kardon and Lights. Bargain for sure and a lot less to worry about on deprecation. If your smart you'll buy two.

Theres value in an individual color if its a rare one.

If you order an M4 in Dakar Yellow with 6MT, for example, when it comes time to sell it you will have a waiting list.
