Stolen CCB discs

Hi all,
I have an F80 LCI and I'm turning to this fantastic group of people for some help. My wheels and the complete brake system (CCB) were stolen a few weeks ago.
My insurance company had put the "standard" 30% age reduction on the brakes, but I don't think that is correct.

So, I called them to say I think they made a mistake since CCBs have a very long life expectancy. They said "Yeah, 30% seems a lot for CCBs, maybe the engineer thought they were steel. Since CCBs have 300,000km (~186k miles) life expectancy according to BMW, 15% would be more aligned. We'll update it in the system."

They never did, and when I called again, they said I had to provide documentation referring to the 300,000km life expectancy.

I've searched and searched, but I cannot find any documentation speaking to the life expectancy of the CCB discs from BMW. General info that CCB discs typically hold out to 300-350k km yes, but nothing BMW-specific.

I would be very grateful for any links or official BMW repair docs mentioning the life expectancy of my discs. 🤞

Sorry I can’t help with the lifespan of them but I’m really sorry to hear that happened to your car.

It’s the first time I’ve heard of CCB’s being stolen. Quite scary really. Is there much demand for CCB’s in Sweden? Surely must be a small market?

Any progress on the insurance payout?

Thanks, Colin.
After having sent the insurance company lots of screenshots of webpages citing a 300-350k km general lifespan for CCBs they budged and changed the age reductionfrom 30% to 15%, to which I agreed.

Since I track my car heavily, it feels good to get brand-new CCBs at 15% of the actual cost. I'm also putting Endless CCD-R pads on it. I thus look forward to the next Track season.

Sorry to hear this happened to you, but glad insurance is taking care of you. How did this happen, is the car garaged?

I was already considering adding wheel locks to my incoming GTS even though it'll be garaged.

Glad to see it worked out for you and you changed their policy. I changed AMICA's policy on track coverage! We are very few of the people who track CCB. How many miles were on the disks. I did not know Endless made pads for them. I thought Pagid was the only aftermarket.
