Exclamation F82 abnormal sound!!

Whenever it reaches 2000 rpm, which should be when the turbine starts to pressurize, there will be a sound in the video like a plane taking off. This will also happen if you put it in neutral. Does anyone know what the problem is? No. any trouble lights.

sorry my english not good so i have to use translation software to write this things

this sounds almost make me crazy

So the noise is there only if you hold the rpm constant at 2k rpm? Do you hear the sound if you slowly accelerate from 1k to 3k rpm? Does it happen in every gear at 2k rpm?

To be honest, I am not sure whether this sound will be heard after 3000 rpm, because the supplementary sound at that time will prevent me from hearing the sound well, but this sound will only appear after 2000 rpm.

I don’t believe it’s the gearbox. I was trying to find out when it does or doesn’t happen. I’d start by checking if the turbos aren’t properly mounted/preloaded down and is letting boost/sound slip past or a downpipe not properly secured and, again, letting boost/sound escape. You could also check the J tube to see if there’s any oil in it. This would suggest a turbo could be leaking oil.

Last year, my cooler leaked into the turbo pipe, and it seemed to be a common problem with these turbo pipes, but I thought it wasn't cracked, so I didn't bother with it.

Yes, the stock TMIC is known to fail and leak coolant into the engine intake. I’m asking whether the turbo itself is leaking boost/air and/or oil, not coolant. A lot can happen to a car during a one year period.

I haven't checked whether there is any oil leakage in the turbine. Can I check it in a few days when the oil is changed?

Sure. It’s more involved than an oil change and would require at least the removal of the CF strut brace and intake system on the passenger’s side (right side) of engine bay. You can see the turbos now. Also the J pipe could be removed and checked.

If you did the VCs on your own then you should be able to DIY this on your own.

Yes, I did it with my friend, but I was surprised that the F82 didn’t need to torque most of the time when doing it.
