Anybody ordering the updated V2 version of the Active Autowerke equal length midpipe?

They recently posted this but haven't seen any clips yet.

I'd love to know if the appalling rasp at 2k rpm (when in combination with dp's) is actually eliminated with this new version.

The original version sounds beautiful at every other rpm so of this truly resolves the issue then I'm sold.

Maybe try emailing them. They gotta have some clips. Then post them here. This has got to get a lot of people excited who have catless DP and had to move away from EL.

Agreed. The EL midpipes sound so good but it really takes away from the driving experience when you're constantly either shifting at 1900 rpm or trying to quickly rev past 2k and keep it above there. 2k is kinda a crucial rpm

Bump...just wondering to see if anyone with downpipes has installed the gen 2 ELs yet.

Still interested to know if the 2k rasp issue is resolved.

When I spoke with AA they said that gen 2 greatly reduced the 2k rasp (paraphrasing) but I was looking to hear that it was completely eliminated, but didn't get a definite answer on that.

I have the AA single midpipe (EL wasn't available when I purchased) - anyone know if the single can be replaced with the EL without any modifications to the connector pipes required?

Yes it can. I just replaced my AA gen 1 EL with the AA resonated single midpipe.

2k rasp is gone but so is the awesome sound at higher rpms, which is why I'm asking about the gen 2's

Pretty sure there is a trade in program if your the original owner of the mid pipe...sent them a question via DM but it wasn't answered is does this only improve sound for cars with DP's or does improve the sound regardless....hope to hear from folks as they get this out in the wild more.

There is though if you had yours welded (did this with mine as the clamp on the passenger side kept sliding off) they won't accept it as a trade.

I'm fortunately making a trip to Florida for business reasons so Active said they'd work with me on cutting out my current EL mid and installing the res there in the shop.

From the video this does seem to finally iron out that last bit of rasp and glad that Active decided to put in the R&D for the S55 and not just for the S58.
