I am really glad I didn't install my full IND cosmetic package....or get the clear bra done like I had planned.
That would have sucked!

Yuck.
They at least need to get you into a 5 series. Can't imagine anything other than a buy back and/or replacement. The car is the definition of a lemon.

I think a fully loaded Techno Violet M4 with Opal Full leather might ease the pain
Yes I know they refuse this color now..... that's the point

Heart breaking. and you spec'd it out perfectly too! The car is gorgeous!!!
I just went through the whole ordering and wait myself and I can only imagine how heartbroken you must be now. So sorry dude. Hang in there. We have your back too. PS: I'm no technician myself, but to me this screams fuel pump or something along the fuel delivery mechanism. Just very erratic and odd. Please keep us posted!!! |

As an aircraft technician I can tell you this- working in airplane when the problem cannot be traced it mostly leads down to faulty wiring in the system. Same goes for cars. Make them check the wiring to make sure all the pins are matting there targets. If a pin in a wire is loose it will give you erroneous behavior, but it will all be ok when they chk it as long as the wire and pin are making contact. A suggestion that you may give them is to chk the car while is running the vibration can cause the wire and pins to shake, thus providing relevant information as to where to chk.

Awful! Sorry this happened to you! I had a troublesome x5 50i a few years ago and bmw failed to fix it after replacing fuel pumps, injectors, sensors galore. It was 2 years into the lease and therefore they didn't lemon it but offered me a 1500 credit towards a new bmw. I laughed at them and leased a 911. Here I am today with an f80 on order because bmw chose to honor the 1500 credit nearly 3 years later even after I laughed at them and threatened a lemon law suit.
Point being I had a positive experience with bmwna customer service recently and I hope you do as well. I would accept no less than a new car and hopefully priority to get an early 16 allocation if you even want one. I'd prolly just get something else myself. |

Sad to hear your dream car was DOA. Hope BMW will do something fast to resolve this issue. There's nothing like having your car in the shop for weeks while you're paying on it and driving a rental. I also think its unacceptable that they "fixed" the problem yet it was obvious in the video that they didn't. Good luck and keep us updated.

Just lawyer up and get it done....thats what I did with my 2009 335i. BMWNA will always take way longer than a lawyer to get you into a new car, I live in Cali tho where lemon laws are great for the consumer.

Spaceman. First of all, I feel really sorry for you.
Now, I guess you could take a few steps; 1) Remind yourself that when you buy a new car, there is no guarantee that this kind of shit can't happen. There is always that small element of risk and it is unfortunate that you became a part of that statistics. What is however guaranteed is that the car will be fixed or replaced in a reasonable time frame and in a reasonable number of attempts 2) Decide what you really want. What do you think you would consider the best case outcome for this situation. Be realistic. There are so many comments here. If I was in your position I may have considered a good outcome to be A) getting a new 2016 model. B) getting a free loaner for the next 2-3 months while your car is delivered. C) Maybe some small accessory thrown in. But you decide what seems fair to you. Keep reminding yourself of point #1 above though! 3) You may want to start thinking of contacting a lawyer if you believe that BMW will not easily give you what you decided you want in point #2. 4) I know it is difficult, but try and not ruin your days. If you do that, it will be a double whammy! Wish you good luck, keep cool and keep us updated |

Sorry to hear. It sucks when an experience you've been waiting for all your life is a big let down. I'm experiencing one right now. Ordered an M4 for ED two months ago, only to be told 4 weeks before pickup that sorry we forgot to turn in the paperworks so when you get to Munich you don't have a car to pick up. Feels like shit.

I'm so sorry to hear this man..
Can't say much others haven't, but be reassured that what you're going through is NOT common at all. You'll soon have a properly working dream car in no time!

I had a problem wth an E46 coupe in 2007 and it would stall in the middle of nowhere, it did this on 5 separate occasions. To give BMW UK credit they tried everything to fix it and it just kept doing the same thing, even in the dealers lot immediately after another repair. They put it down to faulty wiring and coils? After 3 months of trying to fix it and me running around in the dealers demo M3, BMW UK did the right thing and gave me a brand new car with a few choice options. This was before service packs were widely available but the replacement car was serviced on each occasion for free. I hope that BMW NA take the same care of you as I received from BMW UK, I have owned several BMW/Mini products since then and all have had no issues. Good luck and keep us all posted on progress. I believe that its beyond lemon law and you have been patient enough. They should not only take the car back, but give you a heavy discount on your next M3 if you choose to get one.

It think its the idle air control valve since it only happens when you are stopped. Tell the dealer to check it out.
I noticed that revs keep dropping down slowly and the car bumps it back up to spec then drops again slowly. Pretty sure its the idle control valve Last edited by ///F80M3; 05-15-2015 at 12:36 AM.. |
