If you like Ferrari Red M3's get in here...
Finally on the road full time, I hope…
This is a follow up post from our epic ED delivery of our Ferrari Red F80 M3 http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1195462 Since we have been so fortunate to have such an early spring, I moved my new vehicle prep appointment up by an entire month. I got the car back on Monday last week from local shop Auto Obsessed. They had the car for a little over two weeks (I could have had it back earlier but we had a dump of snow the day it was actually ready and then the Easter weekend they were closed). So the waiting continued. It’s has been perpetual waiting for this car (first ED, then re-delivery in Calgary, then waiting for spring, then waiting for this appointment). Before it went in we changed out the reflectors and key hole delete for some color matched ones from IND. All that is left now is to install the competition package blacked out rear emblem which just arrived I had the car booked in for protective film, some paint correction including removing scratches from it being hand dried with a rag, ( not by me), deep clean for contamination from shipping, touch ups from a few rock chips, and nano coating. They were able to restore it as close as possible to Welt condition, removing all iron from shipping, rubber debris from the Nurburgring, touching up rock chips, and removing some small scratches! and swirls. It is amazing in just two weeks of driving in Europe and during transportation how much crap is sitting on the car’s surface even when it looks clean! I didn’t have the entire car covered in Xpel but I did choose to have a good chunk of it covered. I had the full front end (bumper, splitter, lip, lights, fenders, hood), mirror caps, hood, full roof, A Pillars, and rear quarters covered. Also, I had the car covered with EXO Ultra Durable Hybrid Coating as I wanted to keep the dust off the car as best as I could. I had never been to Auto Obsessed before for any work and they were outstanding . Troy explained everything to me on the phone prior to booking the car in and then there were several follow up phone calls during and after they were working on the car to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted on the car. The full process that the car underwent was thoroughly explained to me as well as how I can maintain the shine after I took the F80 home again. We went through the car when I went to pick it up in their ultra bright "Clean room". I was shown the intricacies of the film installation where they wrapped it around the body panels and some of the difficult corners and areas to monitor to see if I will need any additional film installed. Here are some of the shots they supplied with the service I received including some of the prep work and the final product. Of course there are two signature clean room shots at the end when I went to pick her up. Enjoy! |

Beautiful! I desperately need to detail my cars. We've got so much pollen down here, so the cars look like they're covered in snot

I know....Murphy's law had it that the night I brought it home it rained on the short drive. So the following day I rinsed it and blew it dry. Then again I had to give it a rinse later in the week as it is still a bit dusty here until the roads are cleaned.

Awesome!!! Owner of AO is a buddy of mine and he did my car when I got my M4. Literally delivered it from BMW, took it to get tinted and then to AO and he did a full service on it and Xpel as well.
They are likely the best in the country for detailing etc. Looks amazing. Cant wait to see you around town! I just threw insurance back on the M yesterday! |

I think the Xpel does quite well on this car. Given the BMW orange peel I think that it hides it as best as it can. That coupled with the nano coating you can't even feel the film. Quite seemless as well especially on the A pillars. I also feel that the level of care that this was applied in terms of wrapping it around the corners etc. will pay off ten fold vs. a shitty application job.

Thank you I think so as well! Thank you Alex! Thanks Sam - I understand Tim944s has some carbon bits on order with you guys. Will have to do another shoot when everything is installed with the two red mistresses |
