Sabelt SPS Racing Seat w/ Carbon Shell installed in AY M4

Sabelt has selected one of the highest quality leather suppliers of transportation seating in the world for the material used on the SPS line of seats. Selected and produced by the finest quality Italian tanneries, the natural full-grain leather and process used guarantees the original and natural softness of the finest coats while preserving its durability.



The SPS seat shell is made with RTM technology. Resin Transfer Molds. The carbon fiber layer is active part of the production. It’s added in the mold. It is not just an aesthetic.
This is an absolute novelty in the field of competitions that grants complete process stability and systematic control technical values of the shell:

- Constant thickness which results in a stable behavior to impacts in all areas of the seat
- Accurate thickness at strategic points helps reduce the overall weight while maximizing stiffness
- Flexibility of the look/finish. High gloss black finishes or carbon

The SPS seats offer 6 adjustments. Height adjustment on a seat can dramatically improve the driving position, improving the safety and driver focus. This also allows greater flexibility when other people drive the car.

Sabelt SPS seats were designed to offer superior comfort aimed at the expert driver, while focusing on the aesthetic and design aspect of the product. The strong association with Racing can be felt in the way the seat supports the body without compromising the drivability and use as a daily driven vehicle.

Sabelt monitors the quality of technical products, producing everything in Italy. Sabelt is known for the Ferrari OE Seats. The seats are made with the same process, using the same suppliers, and in the same factory (mostly hand assembled) as the Ferrari seats.

Seats arrived shortly before Bimmerfest for mockup into the M4. Seats arrive complete with rail sliders and seatbelt receptacles making parts allocation a breeze.









These particular seats feature yellow stitching, which will match the Austin Yellow color nicely. Seats mechanical height adjustments and feature leather stitched QuickRelease for easy rear seat access. Perforated Alcantara seat inserts add a nice touch and protect wear areas. Simplicity and class all rolled into one package.



A special set of Macht Schnell F8X-specific Competition Floormounts were provided, fresh off the CNC in prep for installation, giving us everything needed for installation. In addition to their standard Gloss Black rear shells, Sabelt offers a 2x2 Carbon Fiber shell option, which respects the 2/8 O-Clock direction like the BMW interior trim.

Conclusion: The OEM BMW CarbonStructure seats are pretty good. It's amazing that the Sabelt SPS seats actually feel better. Soft, yet rigid in the right areas allow you to feel planted and actually gets the adrenaline running before the start button is even pushed.

The Sabelt SPS is a very good "no compromises" touring seat to personalize the interior to your specific liking, and quite possibly - the best seat on the market for your new M3/M4.

How does this work now w the srs system? Are there dummy sensors that get connected in place of the weight sensors in the oe seats?

Coding is performed to remove errors on the iDrive/instrument cluster.

Everything works as normal once completed.

The SPS seats are very similar to the stock weights. However, much more comfortable for long/spirited drives.
