Do you consider the m4 a supercar?

Compare it based on performance to cars of yesteryear and it more than meets the definition if a supercar. Exotic materials, performance, desirable and well designed. Unfortunately the bar has been raised so high for a modern supercar that the F8x does not qualify. Just ask yourself which car you would rather be in a wreck in; a Ferrari 308 or an M3? Safe, relatively affordable, comfortable, good mileage, powerful and practical. Maybe not a supercar but definitely a super car.

Ummm.... no. As much as I love the M4, it's not even close.

GT3RS, GT2RS, 918, Lambo, 458 Italia, etc... those are Supercars.

No, mass production cars is not a supercar especially based on a regular lineup and not designed from ground up.

And really the bar got raised anyways...not enough to just be a supercar these days when there are hypercars lurking (P1, 918, LaFerrari, Huayra).

I think the i8 is closer to an exotic than the m4...though performance isn't quite supercar territory

Used to be a sub 4 second 0-60 was supercar range. Would the Nissan GTR be borderline supercar? Based on performance alone, both are fairly close, but the term is generally reserved for exotic/"bespoke" autos these days I suppose.

Sorry, folks. The F8x in any flavor (incl. future trims, like the GTS) is not a supercar.

However, that's not to say it isn't a great piece of work.
