I would say much less. I just did the trip with my wife and it costs less than we thought it would. Numbers below are for 6 full days in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, France):

Flights: $3000
Hotels: $1500
Travel: Gas/Tolls etc $500
Food/Fun:$1500
Various: $1000

That's a total of $7500.00.
I got a Euro Delivery discount of $4500.00

That brought Total out of pocket cost to roughly $3000.00

My wife and I spent more than that, but mainly on upgrading flights and hotel rooms. Id say you could do it for less than the $3K I just reviewed if you worked on a tighter budget. The trip is great and you wont regret it. This forum will help in so many ways.
