How to change air filters in this car

Air filter change seems to require CF brace removal. What a nightmare....

a little more than 15 min. remove the rear cowl covers. remove CF brace. remove the top of the air boxes and replace the filters and put back together. I just did it to a friends car. Roughly an hour and that includes losing a socket and driving back to my place to get a magnet.

Pretty much, I use an electric impact for removal and a drill for the airbox screws. Makes it much faster. The brace has 3 13mm bolts on each rear side and 2 13mm bolts up front.

Yeah pretty much this, but after the first time doing drop ins then going with injen intakes , the install took like 45 mins
Most fiddly part is all the screws on the airbox lid

What will happen if you remove the charcoal filter on top of primary air filter? What is the benefit? Any power gain? Any Check engine light?

nothing other than a bit more intake noise. No CEL. The charcoal filter is in there to meet US emission standards. Euro versions do not have it.

Yep I'm in the uk and changed my filters following that video above. I'm mechanically useless and even I managed it without issue. No carbon filters were inside mine. Plus you get a chance to inspect the cf brace close up.
